The "deal" Kerry and company came up with stinks. It has more holes than cheap lace. Swiss Cheese is much more solid and stable.
I also don't want the discussion/debate to get sullied by the always present antisemitism in the American State Department and White House. We all know that if Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu says that 2 + 2 = 4, Obama will try to prove him wrong.
I find Congressman Alcee L. Hastings's op-ed a relief in that he mentioned neither Israel nor Netanyahu.

After careful review, I have decided that I cannot support this deal. The anti-"Deal" lobby should be on the issues, the details of the "deal" and how effective it would be. It should discuss how a nuclear Iran endangers world peace, and the simple fact that Iran keeps threatening the United States.
The goal of the recently concluded negotiations was to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. The negotiators worked diligently, but in the end, the JCPOA allows Iran to remain a nuclear threshold state while simultaneously reaping the benefits of relief from international sanctions. It's no secret the United States has an awful record in protecting allies and doesn't have any enemies on its borders, so as an Israeli I don't see it as a country I'd rely on. Honestly, we've done our best in wars that we fought alone, like in the 1967 Six Days War. We must stop groveling for help from the USA, because we don't need it.

I agree with you. It is a wake-up call that this deal falls within the period of remembering japan's experieces in world war two, with atom bombs.
The deal proliferates the ME and beyond with nuclear weapons. No thinking person puts their signature to such a deal. The world is not being made safer. Just the opposite in fact. It was encouraging to read that some jewish senators are voting from 'conscience,' and not as party faithfulls, or being blinded by the dollars involved in the oil trade. The Democrats are the party for war.
Thanks

My two cents here is: Are you kidding me? What do you mean "if Iran developes a nuclear bomb? Aren't they already in possession of this already? Come on,wake up people. It's a matter of multiplying them and or enhancing them....
They've been enriching for years already....you would have to be blind or asleep not to see this.....
The speed at which the supposed leader of the free world is trying to get the world against Israel is crazy ridiculous....
We need to be united....difficult to achieve? Of course. Impossible? No. It's a whole lot easier, though, unfortunately, when there is an existential threat, I'm afraid....
has it dawned on everybody that it's nearly impossible to leave the country or am i being overdramatic
DK: Japanese employers can be difficult, so taking any time off has been... tricky.

I am loding track of this conversation.
The following is just one rarely voiced reason against the Iran deal.
Lots are surprised that Barack Obama so concerned about civil rights at home should sign on to an Iran deal where no clause is inserted in same deal to guarantee Iran's citizens basic civil rights.
Public protests for basic civil rights in Iran are met with ruthless suppression by Iran government's notorious Basij security service. It's the commander of same Basij security service that publicly proclaimed Israel's annihilation to be non-negotiable.
Nach, I have doubts about Obama as strong on civil rights. He spent a formative part of his childhood abroad and later lived with his white grandparents
