One thing I've been noticing is that people are starting to build sukkot earlier and earlier every year. And the businesses selling supplies for building and decorating sukkot open earlier, too.
These are pictures I took last week in Jerusalem. It seems to be that people are looking at post-Rosh Hashannah for the time to work on their sukkot.
The enthusiasm to fulfill the Mitzvot is very encouraging.

Just so you should know, there are also established customs to start building the Succa between Rosh Hashanna and Yom Kippur. Ans some people have the custom of putting up the walls before Yom Kippur and topping it off with the Schach after Yom Kippur.

Shy, it makes sense. I just must admit that I personally have a problem when the sukkah walls are up. I can't hang and take in laundry safely. I just can't reach the lines safely and damage my shoulders.
