PM Binyamin Netanyahu and Larry King "Fencing" Around The Chess Board

I caught the end of the "Larry King Live Exclusive" interview with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu (transcript.)  The verbal choreography was fascinating.  Call it fencing or chess or some combination of both. Here's the link to the interview. And here should be the interview or excerpts.

It's no secret that I admire Bibi's intelligence and talent, but I'm horrendously disappointed in how he's wasting it.
  • He's not the leader he could be.
  • He's not the leader he should be.
  • He's not the leader Israel needs.
There were some interesting questions.  King asked Netanyahu with whom would he negotiate, and Bibi replied anyone who isn't trying to destroy us.  He frequently asked what the US would do if in our situation, a good point.

Netanyahu was asked if he ever takes time off, and answered that on Shabbat he learns Bible with his prize-winning fifteen year old son.

On the whole it's a good interview.  The problem is that's all it is, just words, an interview.

Kings ratings are the lowest in his slot. why did Bibi waste his time on such a low rated show

We don't know how many other invitations he got if any. We don't know if he owes King for past favors.

King is being pushed out...

Larry King provides a much more haimishe (congenial) setting and as he mentioned has known Netanyahu for thirty years. Also, because King has a more fair-minded reputation than anyone on Fox let's say - he has more credibility. There isn't a single political talk show host who could have done as remotely as good a job as Larry King. The fact is Larry King is under-rated.

Ranier, King did a good job. He's a funny-looking old man in a medium which emphasises beauty and youth. That's probably why he in less popular.

There is another interview today; with Fox News, I anticipate that Bibi will be more expressive! These are the days that our leaders shall not form, but the days that shall form our leaders! I believe it is in the hands of G-d , but for men to decide whom they shall serve!Barukh ata Adonai Eloheinu Melekh ha‑olam, she‑hakol nih'ye bidvaro.Shabat Shalom

I usually dread these things, and rarely am I wrong. This interview with Larry King was an exception.

Was my comment deleted or a glitch in Blogger?

If the former, all I meant was that Larry King panders and fawns over all of his guests. If he was polite to Bibi it didn't necessarily mean he agreed with him.

If only Bibi would let a reporter at a small newspaper interview him.

I'd be very fair but not a push over.

My other comment was that Bibi comes across as trustworthy on American TV but for some reason when I see clips of him on Israeli TV (posted on You Tube) he seems deceptive. I think maybe Israeli reporters make him nervous.

I apologize if this and the last comment was offensive.

These are just observations. Obviously I am not an Israeli and don't see Netanyahu on the nightly news that much.

I'm sorry.
