70 Kilometers From the Israeli Border

On Friday an IMRA mailing caught my eye:
Hundreds of 70 km missiles from Libya to Gaza
Dr. Aaron Lerner Date: 10 June 2011

Maariv correspondent Eli Bradstein reports in today’s edition that Israeli
security sources warn that in recent weeks hundreds of Grad rockets (range
60-70 kilometers) have been smuggled from Libya to the Gaza Strip via Egypt.
This in addition to many shorter range rockets, arms and weapons.

Dr. Aaron Lerner, Director IMRA (Independent Media Review & Analysis)

Now seventy kilometers may not be much in the United States, Canada, the Former Soviet Union, China, India, Brazil or even France, but it's a major distance for Israel.

The following map shows the range of Israeli cities when attacked by twenty (20) kilometer katyusha rockets.  Twenty is less than a third of seventy, so try tripling the danger distance.

These maps say it all.

When so-called military experts, whether American, European or Israeli claim that Israeli security would be viable with another Arab state, they are out and out lying. The fact that the United States and other countries continue to give/sell arms to our Arab neighbor-enemies, knowing full well that we are their prime targets is a very serious, dangerous problem. No Iron Dome can save us.
