It's a known fact that Rabin had been pushed or duped into accepting the Oslo Accords, an agreement of sorts, which had been negotiated by private individuals who had no legal right to commit as representatives of the State of Israel.
The process began in January 1993 in a meeting with two Israelis, Dr. Yair Hirschfeld and Dr. Ron Pundak, and Palestinian representatives headed by Ahmed Qurei, aka Abu Alaa. The contact between the groups was made through Norwegian mediators, who contacted Dr. MK Yossi Beilin. A short time later, Beilin was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and he officially acknowledged these talks, while depicting them as unofficial. Minister of Foreign Affairs Shimon Peres was updated by Beilin after the first meeting took place in January, and Peres informed Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in early February. (Knesset site)If anything, those who initiated contact and committed Israel to these conditions should have had been charged with treason. But inexplicably, they were fully backed by Israel's Leftist leadership most prominently by Shimon Peres. By all reports Rabin hadn't a clue as to what had been taking place.
Yitzchak Rabin was a team player and didn't get to high office by shaking the boat. And talking about boats, it's a fact that he followed Ben-Gurion's orders to attack the Altalena soon after the Declaration of Independence.
Those who know the truth about the Rabin assassination have kept their silence. There are many questions that need answers, and I wonder if we will ever get them.
One of the worst results of the assassination, is that it has been used as justification to condemn, blame Israel's Right, the pro-Jewish Life in all of the Land of Israel. The hateful and untrue statements made annually and more frequently against the most patriotic of Israeli citizens is how Yitzchak Rabin's followers wish to promote his legacy. This lack of unity is the greatest tragedy of all for the State of Israel and the Jewish People.

Correct analysis
Batya,
Everything that you've written is correct, but I disagree with Steve. It is not analysis.
Rabin did shoot at the Altelina and apparently at ship-men and passengers in the water but this is off subject. It is a fascinating subject that should be discussed as it is relates to atempted political assassinations and the autonomy of the individual to defy orders or not, but it does NOT sheld light on what happened at the demonstration where Rabin was shot.
The left who started the negotiations were indeed in breach of Israel Law. They could have been tried, but weren't. The democratic leadership, going up the chain from Beilin through Peres to Rabin decided to widen the crack and open a door to negotiations. You and I may think the negotiators was mis-guided or even traitors, but the establishment does not. It sees this as a loyal attempt to break the impasse and bring about negotations towards peace. Very many political decisions are shown up to be wrong by future developments. So what?
If you want a conspiracy theory, there are all sorts of open questions regarding Rabin's shooting and the post-mortem. that Raviv ws involved in stirring things up is a relatively minor aspect. I am more concerned about the doctor conducting the post-mortem considering that Rabin's organs were in excellent condition after three bullets allegedly penetrated. I am fascinated at Rabin apparently being able to enter his car on his own, after being shot. it seems that Dalia Rabin-Philosoph had similar questions.
Anyway, nothing about the Altalena or the negotiations prior to the Oslo signing create a conspiracy theory. Raviv being sponsored, probably be Shabak doesn't do enough either.
Raviv was indeed a Shabak inciter, but that does not mean that
Steve thanks
Michael
I would not say Raviv was minor because of his connection to Amir and the numorous investigations of other students not that anything serious could be connected to them.
Much has been written and investigated on this. Truths are hidden from the public. It's best for those who want to know what really happened is to do research. Conspiracy theories are usually not theories, but those at the helm will always make sure that media promotes them as conspiracy theories, so truth usually be hidden. In this case, there are a number of books which have been written on this subject.
I do not think the authors have fully cracked the case.
