Paying off Turkey will still make Turkey an ally of Gaza, the Arab terrorist "entity" that keeps shooting dangerous missiles at Israel.
In January, government figures show, Gaza-based terror groups fired three times as many rockets at Israel as during an average month in 2013. These included 20 mortar and rocket attacks on Israel’s southern communities, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) set off on the Gaza-Israel border and two incidents where the IDF stopped militants attempting to launch rockets. The fact that G-d controls the point of landing and has been protecting us does not reduce or eliminate their potential danger, nor the unbridled aggression against Israel.

Last week Haaretz reported that Israel has offered to pay $20 million in compensation to the families of the nine people killed during an Israeli commando raid on the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara in May 2010, as well as to those in the incident.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had authorized his envoys to go as high as $23 million in order to secure an agreement...
...Speaking at a press conference in Ankara alongside Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, Erdogan said that negotiations with Israel have progressed, but have not ended. He added that Turkey has received an apology from Israel, and that talks over compensation for the families of those killed and wounded on the Mavi Marmara ship in 2010 are ongoing. However, Erdogan said the lifting of the siege over the Gaza Strip – which was one of the conditions set by Turkey for normalizing relations – has not yet transpired. "Nothing will happen without lifting the siege on Gaza," he said.

Sad to say - Erdogan is right - Jews appear to be motivated by a love of money.
As if that can buy them someone's respect, never mind their friendship. One has to conclude the Jews are among the most repulsive people on earth.
Where is the Jewish honor and self-respect? Jews seem to revel in national humiliation, which they have raised to an art form. Since they have no respect for themselves, they should not be surprised at the contempt in which they're held by others.
And now the Turks have raised the price! What's the lesson here? There are some things in this world not even Jewish money can buy! Such as reconciliation with Jew-hating Turkey.
Norman, I'm beginning to understand why some of your comments are disdained on other pro-Israel blogs.
There are about 14 million Jews on this planet. About half of them live in Israel. The goons on the top of the pyramid running the Israeli government and who are involved in this decision are a handful or two of Israelis who are not very Jewish in anything they practice.
So I will chime in with what other talkbackers have already said to you: shut your trap when you smear our people.
You deserve that.
Norman, how could you say that?
Shy, so true that the politicians who are in charge are far removed from Jewish values.
Shy Guy and Batya:
I have not smeared anyone! I have pointed out Jews don't look good when they grovel in front of their enemies! And that is an unhappy and undeniable fact.
And playing along to the one of the ugliest anti-Semitic stereotypes in the world doesn't help matters. When its reported Israeli emissaries have been authorized to offer up to $23 million dollars to secure Turkey's putative goodwill. I think Israel should have nixed rapprochement with Turkey from the outset.
I call things as I see 'em! And quite frankly, the Jewish people deserve far better than that - when they begin demanding it and also when they finally get leaders who don't continually shame them by doing stupid things!
Steven Plaut made a good point today by saying that Israel should be conditioning normalization of relations with Turkey, on the latter ending its illegal occupation of Famagusta. Turkey of course will "normalize" relations with a deceased Israel.
This is not to excuse the Turks - reconciliation with them is simply not worth the time, the effort, the money or the humiliating rebuffs Israel has experienced at their hands. Israel can build a good relationship with countries that respect it - Turkey is not on that list.
Norman, as you know well, I've been saying all along that we're the ones who should be demanding compensation and apologies from the Turks. They supported the attacks on us!
It gets worse - the people on the Mavi Mamara are NOT innocent victims! They fully deserved to get shot after they resisted (and sought to kill Israeli soldiers who boarded their ship and they deserve NO compensation from Israel. Period.
Its a shame the Israeli government isn't offering the money to heroic Israeli marines who paid the price to defend their country! But they offer it to anti-Semites who won't change their hate of the Jewish people and their state simply because Israel is nice to them.
There are some people whose company you should definitely shun as a matter of principle. The Turkish rebuff has sent Israel a clear message. We can only hope the Israeli government takes the hint and acts accordingly.
G-d willing we'll have a government with the guts and pride to fight and defend our honor and rights.
