It's an internal Jewish war, brother against brother, Sinat Chinam, Baseless Hatred. Long before the establishment of the State of Israel, the Zionist organizations fought for supremacy, or more accurately, the Labor-led Zionist establishment used every weapon in its arsenal to stay in power.
They branded the Jabotinsky followers as "revisionists," and made it almost impossible for "revisionists" and religious Zionists to get official permits from Great Britain, the Mandate rulers, to enter the Land.
They accused Revisionists of murdering Arloseroff, even though facts show a very different scenario. During the struggle for independence, they had no problems turning over other Jews to the British during the notorious Sezon. Soon after that, just after the Declaration of Statehood, Labor Zionist hatred against fellow Jews "justified" murder, as Ben Gurion ordered the elite Palmach to shoot the Altalena, a ship filled with immigrants and arms bought to liberate the Old City of Jerusalem by the nascent Israeli Army. That resulted in Israel losing control of the Old City. During the 19 years of Jordanian rule, Jews were forbidden to enter it and visit the Kotel. The Jordanians also destroyed synagogues and Jewish cemeteries.
In 1967, Egypt, Jordan and Syria allied to destroy Israel, but miraculously, Israel was victorious, and the Israeli establishment has been trying to erase that victory ever since.
Disengagement was the largest battle in that war. Two years ago, Israel sent soldiers into peaceful Jewish communities. These soldiers were effectively brainwashed so they wouldn't "feel." They were trained in techniques so they could perform like robots to accomplish "a national mission of such importance;" though nobody can justify or, explain just what the importance actually was.
"We worked mostly as robots because of the volume of work that had to be done. From lack of sleep, your body works on automatic pilot. You don't know what you're going to do the next hour. The lack of knowledge about what's next contributes to your robotic mode."This was relatively easy to accomplish, since the soldiers were of the generation raised to believe that "the settlers killed Rabin," another lie. I have no doubt that mindset made it easier to convince the soldiers to destroy the Jewish communities of Gush Katif and northern Shomron.
Instead of seeing us as the continuation of the Zionist enterprise, Israeli media and politicians portray us as racist parasites, taking over Arab land and living in government build homes. The government
The ruling Labor "Zionists" gave up the dream and feel threatened by those who are inspired by our history, from the time of the Bible to today. Ironically, Labor Zionists replaced the Jewish Religion with the Land. And then within a generation of the Establishment of the State, the Land, unrooted, unanchored in religion, lost its value to them.
Your "elite" Israelis, unfettered by both religion and land, are looking to be "international," which means that they believe in nothing, stand for nothing and don't think that anything is worth dying for.
That's why Olmert and his "chassidim" can claim that last summer's war was a success, because foreign troops are protecting us.
Yes, we're in big trouble. Olmert's support is still in single-digits, but he's a master politician and still ruling.
The real war is the internal war, Jew against Jew. We can't give up, and we won't.

It has absolutely nothing to do with Olmert's ability as a politician. It has everything to do with an electoral system where politicians have absolutely no accountability to the electorate and a justice system which self-selects its members from a small Leftist elite who know what is best for the citizens of the country, even if the values and aspirations of said citizens are completely different from theirs, or perhaps especially because of this.
Yoel, on that I disagree. The other Ehud, the Barak one is much less adept at politics and lost his position very quickly. The media is now with Olmert, and the MK's want their pensions, so wait until March.

The Left - Socialists - have been in control of the major organs of the media for more than half a century in the US. Only in the past decade or so have inroads begun to be made, wresting control from the them, and allowing the opposing views to be printed/broadcast.
But control has been with the Left for so long that most Americans still receive their news from such Leftist organizations as the NYTimes, CBSNews, etc. Most of what the world knows about this nation has been tainted for decades by the Left. And the facts have fallen by the wayside.
Even this blog has posted complaints regarding American foreign policy, which are based on
the "facts" as presented by the Left. Is it any wonder that Israelis don't grasp the depth to which the Socialists will go to deceive them, hide the facts, and keep themselves in power?
The Left loves to parade the myth of McCarthyism as its warning about the "Right". Yet the facts are decidedly different from the myth. The myth is alive and well, and it colors what the world sees as American "witch-hunting" when they seek to destroy terrorists in their own lands. Americans seeking to expose Communists in the government were castigated as "red
Baiters" and paranoids, as if communists had not infiltrated the government at all levels.
As in Israel, many were silenced. Brow-beaten into ineffectuality by those whose affection for Leftist ideals always ignored the reality of such Socialist Utopias as the Stalinist Soviet Union, the Marxist paradise of Red China, the murderous vacation spot of Guevara-land (Cuba).
The morality of the Left is cemented in the communist belief that there is no truth outside of communism. Any lie may be told if it furthers the path of communism. And Israel is one of the recipients of the socialist/communist myth-building. Israel's Left lies, because they are expected to. It is the foundation of their creed.
The only way to fight them, to defeat them, is to speak out. Gain power. Let the people hear the truth, rather than the myths.
Can Israel do that? America still fights the resurgence of the Left. It is a long task, a hard fight. And it must be fought. It must!
