Hatikvah

Last night, in Jerusalem, I met with a small group of veteran political activists. We're an international group with a wide range of experience.

There's one politician we all agree is honest, reliable, intelligent and more good things. He's MK Dr. Arye Eldad, MD. MK Eldad's backers have formed a political group, not yet a political party. At present he is a Knesset Member for the Ichud Le'umi, The National Union, which has been swallowed up by the National Religious Party. One of the main reasons is that other members of the NU were originally in the NRP, and the NRP wants them back.

MK Eldad is the only one who doesn't label himself religious. His religiosity is not for politics. Personally, even though I am religious, I don't vote for religious parties, never did.

The religious parties have institutions they must support, so they make decisions based on who's most willing to finance them. That's why the chareidi parties make deals with the anti-religious and anti-Torah. That's why they voted for Peres in the presidential elections. Peres made sure to budget them funds.

Many of us were in the Ichud Le'umi, Likud and T'chiya. Now we're willing to work hard for the new political group.

Hatikvah means hope.

I wonder if Aryeh intends to lead the orange (as only Feiglin is right now), or merely get a few seats in order to join the government. I respect small parties and their struggle to not give up to the two main parties, but it's sickening that they never want to win. They strive to merely get their foot in the door.

I wonder, too.
The people at the meeting were talking "big."

The really big problem is there isn't anyone to make a coalition with.

I'd vote for Feiglin in internal Likud elections, which my friends didn't think great, because I don't want Bibi to get my vote. Not that I think Feiglin is a metziah.

Aryeh intends to lead the nation, not just the "orange". He intends to win. Who is ready to walk the walk and not just talk the talk? We can forever play games with Feiglin or back serial losers within the Old Right, or we get smart and reach out to the entire National Camp. Eldad brings strength without corruption, clarity and Jewish values. What more do you want?

I'm glad to hear that.
So, let's all join him!

Batya;

What about Dr. Arye Eldad's defamations of Jonathan Pollard??

Pollard's wife has a history of fueding with his original supporters and family. Arieh explained it.
Here it is from the IMRA site:
IMRA askes MK Eldad if he wished to reply.

The following is his response:

I am astonished that my words were so badly distorted:

I met with Jonathan. He told me, among other things that the US
administration have some demands from Israel.

When I came back I ran couple of meetings and I understood that Israel is
not ready to pay the price demanded by the Americans, and disclose a name of
another agent that, according to the American assumption was active along
side with Jonathan.

It was very clear that Jonathan does not know who is that man so it is clear
that I never said that Jonathan refused to do anything that could free him.
that is pure non sense. What I was saying is that the state of Israel is not
ready to pay the price that can release Jonathanm and untill they are ready
to so so - there is no chance that the American will release him.

I am deeply sorry that my words are systematically distorted by Mrs Pollard.

And you did not learn from those mistakes!
Tekuma, Techia, Ichud Leumi, Yamin Israel, Baruch Marzel etc. all took votes from the National wing, many did not pass the Minimum of voters and their votes were added to the left wing at did strengthen them.

The National wing knows only one thing: to split and to split and to split.
I remember David Levy said: "I agree very much in unifying the National wing and I invite everybody to join "Gesher".

If the leftist are ready to unify (the capitalist Amnon Rubinstein with the Communist Yair Zaban), only in order to destroy the Jewish Israel, don't you think that it is about time after Begin (25 years ago) to unify the National wing in order to save Israel instead to say,"I do it better" and anyhow to weaken our claim?
How many parts of Israel we have to loose until you get into your head that the second Temple was destroyed and Israel had to go to Galuth because of splitting?

And I am sure, that I did not less than you for Eretz Israel, I was one of the founder of Ofra, 32 years ago, the first settlement in Samaria (Shomron), I moved to Ariel, after my husband Z"L, who saw it as a Zionist Work to build up a University in Samaria.

Geula Cohen tought us how to do it "better" and splitt from Shamir's Likud to Techia, as a result Shamir had to form a coalition with Peres and as the her heroic splitting we got Oslo.
Shall I continue and to have to explain how we got finally Sharon and the Expulsion from Gush Katif????

Are the believer in our Nation so stupid, not to understand that:
a)besides G'd no person is perfect and I have at least as much critics on Arieh Eldad as on Bibi, and this before he had to proof (not to talk only) how to stand in front of all the pressure that the EU that the USA that the poors, the invalides, the arabs, the Ultra-orthodox etc in order to conduct politics he promised his people.
Are you all so eager to get a seat at the Knesset, that you are ready to sacrifice Eretz Israel???????!!!!
b) that there will never be a party who can satisfy 100% of your politics?
c) that in order to strenghten the already existing paries, to split into more?
When will you learn?

All the best
Dorrit

Dorrit, I'm not one of the organizers, but I see no point in voting for Likud, the party that gave us Disengagement, and NRP has muzzled the NU. I hope that the new group will join with others.
And really, why do you think I'm looking for a Knesset seat? Please stick to the issues, and there are enough important ones.
