The Best Housing in Israel, Jewish History and Sovereignty

Not just sentiment or ideology, for quality of life, even the experts say Jerusalem or communities like Shiloh are a great deal.

Israelis and Jews from all over the world are "voting with their feet," or the moving van.  Unfortunately, the world seems pretty united against Jewish rights to build homes, schools etc. for Jews.  Nobody gives a hoot when Arabs build, sans permits etc. all over Judea and Samaria.

But adding an extra bedroom or a young family's new house is a terrible bureaucratic and political hassle for a Jews.

The State of Israel is not acting as a sovereign nation here, not at all.  We should really reflect more on our history.

Shiloh's Mishkan Tabernacle Synagogue is designed to resemble the ancient Biblical Tabernacle which had been located in Shiloh for 369 years, from the rule of Joshua until the death of Eli the High Priest.

It was only us, the Jewish People who ever had a sovereign independent country here in the Land of Israel. No other people did.  There were invaders, like the crusaders and Turkey, and the League of Nations empowered Great Britain with the Mandate to prepare the Jewish People for a Jewish state.

Unfortunately, the Arabs understand that demanding sovereignty is the key, although they have no history of sovereignty here.  They are just the latest Jewish enemies willing to do anything to destroy us.  If the Arabs were really willing to live in peace with us, we would be able to remain here in communities like Shiloh.  But the truth is that the Arabs only plan on murdering us and destroying our homes and communities.  History shows that whenever another society tries to take over, there is only destruction and then they desert the Land.  The Land becomes desolate. It only thrives and is fertile when under Jewish care.

A hundred and fifty years ago, before Modern Zionism promoted return to the Land of Israel, it was barren.  Very few Arabs or Jews lived here, and poverty was rampant.

Today, Israel, especially Jerusalem is enjoying a building boom not seen since the days of King Solomon.  And communities like my Shiloh haven't grown this quickly since the Biblical Joshua.

Eventually, the United States will go the way of our other enemies, the Philistines, Babylonians and Ancient Egypt.  So I really don't care what the American President says or thinks.

As we say in Hebrew 'Emet Ve'yatziv ve'nachon!' Every word spoken here is a word of truth! Bravo!

Building boom or not, the prices of houses here are astronomical! I'm glad that people overseas and come here with a big fortune to live thereafter with a little fortune after paying more for a humble apartment in who knows where than for a detached private home in classy suburban US communities.

Our married children get one crazy price quote after another and they can't even think about anything near Jerusalem or other major cities.

There is a problem here and it's called the Israeli Government, who have a monopoly on land distribution and squeeze us citizens for every penny they can get for as little land as they can give. Stuffing as many Jews in as few square meters as possible is a government policy.

here is a very enlightening article about how only the Jews have made the land bloom: http://www.discovery.org/scripts/viewDB/filesDB-download.php?command=download&id=7701

Batya,

Israel's Jews have sinned before Heaven in putting buildings of wood and stone above honoring the dead!

Its an irony considering that in Jewish history, that G-d chose to destroy a building made of wood and stone - The Temple - rather than destroy the nation of living people for its sins.

Today, Israel is about to release killers of Jews from prison for the dubious privilege of not only talking with their killers but also to get some buildings built.

Desecrating the dead is NO way to peace or to build up the Jewish State. Its a devil's bargain and no good will come of it!

I will consider myself fortunate if I can rent an apartment because I certainly can't buy one.

Norman, I don't understand why you pin the blame of the government's wicked decision on Israel's Jews in general or on Batya in particular.

May the houses of the decision making politicians and judges who let the butchers of Jews go free fall upon their heads and bury them.

Leave the rest of us out of this!

Norman, I haven't a clue of what you're talking about. Are we supposed to sleep in graves or commit suicide, G-d forbid?

Moriah, where do you live?

Leah, Shy, thanks
