Israel has tried releasing convicting murders, Arab terrorists to "jumpstart" the "peace sic process" before, and it has only led to more terror.  But that hasn't stopped the Likud Binyamin Netanyahu Israeli Government  from trying yet again.

Cabinet Approves Opening of Diplomatic Negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians in Accordance with PM Netanyahu's Statement on the Negotiations

יום ראשון כ"א אב תשע"ג
The Cabinet, today, approved the opening of diplomatic negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians in accordance with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statement regarding the negotiations, and authorized a ministerial team on the release of Palestinian prisoners during the negotiations. The Prime Minister will chair the team; its other members will be Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch and Science, Technology and Space Minister Yaakov Peri. Earlier, the Cabinet approved the draft Basic Law: Referendum.

Prime Minister Netanyahu said, "This moment is not easy for me. It is not easy for the ministers. It is not easy especially for the families, the bereaved families, whose heart I understand. But there are moments in which tough decisions must be made for the good of the country and this is one of those moments."  PMO-Prime Minister's Office

Long after the jails have been emptied of "failed terrorists," those Arab terrorists who didn't succeed in murdering Jews, the Israeli Government has now been freeing some of the most notorious Arab terrorists in our history.

Why should they enjoy freedom?  They should have been executed!

And what's the point of negotiations?  American brokered/mediated negotiations will never bring us peace. There won't be peace, true peace until the Arabs want true peace.  It's best for us Israelis just to keep busy building and developing our country in all of the Land of Israel we hold.  Arabs don't need more Land. They need a totally new value system, and that will take centuries.

I feel a palpable rage and every time I see this happen - my German ancestry gets the better of me - I have an impossible time accepting anything that offends my sense of order and justice. The law and justice are what separate us from the barbarians. When we lower ourselves to their level, we are no better than animals. And people who make me feel that way make my skin crawl!

The other part of me, I feel ashamed of what this does to my Jewish ancestors. For centuries, Jews were treated like subhumans. And now in the Jewish State, they're still treated like subhumans! Jewish blood is cheap and the message have repeatedly sent to the Arabs is that you can murder Jews and get away it! I feel nauseated that the Jewish dead do not get the respect they deserve! I would never put the memory of my blessed father to shame as the Jewish State defiles the memory of its own dead. Those who have no respect for the dead won't safeguard the lives of the living!

I realize I am powerless to stop those who intend to aid and abet evildoers. But I will not remain silent! They too will pay the price along with the murderers to whom they give freedom; that is my consolation in the world and now only G-d can execute justice on the earth and dress the wounds of abused widows and orphans.

Norman, I agree with you. There's something so sick and dangerously pathetic in Israeli policy.

The jewish people are eternal. Hashem is with you all, every moment of this trying period. in this most difficult time, there is hidden the highest of good, which is not visible yet to our eyes. and it will come soon, from Hashem to His first born.
when the jewish people are happy, He is happy with them. and now when they are sad, He is sad with them. when they are in exile, He is also in exile with them. which nation or people can claim this relationship with Him!. when all evil gets together, its only to bring them down.

HaShem is Anticipating Our Redemption

From the time HaShem promised that He would redeem Klal Yisrael from the Egyptian bondage, He was anticipating and waiting expectedly to fulfill His promise. HaShem's longing to take them out of Egypt was an expression of His great love for Klal Yisrael. Every moment of the two hundred and ten year slavey HaShem was compassionately caring for Klal Yisrael and looking forward to the great relief, joy, and light of their freedom.

Lesson: The hardship of the exile is necessary for our rectification, and not to be interpreted as a sign that HaShem has forsaken us. In fact, HaShem is constantly yearning to redeem us.

App: Trust in HaShem that He is looking at us with love and wants nothing more than to bring the tranquility of the Messianic Era. Our trust in HaShem's love and compassion for us is the very merit that will awaken the complete redemption!

(Based on Shemon12:42 and the commentary of Rashi and Daas Torah)

Batya, this is insanity to me- and I have nowhere near the intelligence level of Einstein....

Shy Guy said...

I know this is relatively (what an appropriate word!) trivial but I think I've pointed out before that Einstein never said such a thing. See (sadly enough) WikiQuote: Narcotics Anonymous.

Both of 10 Rainbow's comments say it all - don't know what to add, but to say - Amen! Thank you, 10 Rainbow

shy, it doesn't matter who the source is, the statement is brilliant.

Einstein's truism is even something Bibi and his ilk would also acknoledge, no doubt, except that - because they are insane - they do not recognize their illness as such!

yes, van, exactly

Einstein never said that. It was said by Bill Clinton, so it’s probably a lie. Bill Clinton claimed he read in a book, which he didn’t name.

Well…

According to http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Insanity

It actually first appeared in “Narcotics Anonymous” the basic text of the group with the same name. It was said maybe in 1980 and in print in 1981.

It is also cited in a 1980 text from Alcoholics Anonymous as being said orally earlier (but, says the wikiquote article, the link on google books is to the 1992 revised edition, so maybe it didn’t appear in the original 1980version.)

The 1992 edition says:

When I came into the program, I heard that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results,”[1]

Footnote 1 is Step Two: A promise of hope (anonymous pamphelet (from AA Twelve Steps), later attributed to James G. Jensen), 1980, 1992 revised edition, ISBN 0-89486106-9, published by Hazelden Foundation, p. 10

the anonymous pamphlet was attributed to James G. Jensen, not the quote.

On another blog where I having this discussion somebody said he heard it from a high school librarian circa 1974-1975, who did not claim to have invented it herself..

OK, Sammy, I still love what it means and am sick that Israel is being people who refuse to learn from experience.
