The Jewish-Palestinian conflict began, said the prime minister, in 1921, when Arabs attacked Beit Ha'olim in Yafo (Jaffa), which housed new Jewish immigrants. They murdered several Jews, including famed writer Yosef Haim Brenner.
"My own grandfather had arrived at Yafo, to the same house, one year earlier,” said Netanyahu. “This attack was not against territories or settlements,” he noted. “It was against the immigration of Jews to the Land of Israel.”

He methodically opened up the past on the Muslim Mufti in Israel who encouraged the Nazi regime to annihilate Jews, throughout World War II. Prime Minister Netanyahu noted evidence that the Mufti once was hosted by Adolf Eichmann during a visit to the gas chambers at Auschwitz.Netanyahu, like other MK's from the Likud-Beitenu and NRP aka Bayit Yehudi keep forgetting that they are the government coalition. They are supposed to be in the drivers seat.
That was his starting point for verbally attacking the Palestinian Authority for a long history of denying that Jews have a right to their own country in Israel

This is the total opposite of the Harry Truman style of leadership:
"The buck stops here."
That's why I completely boycotted that so-called "protest rally" last week. When Netanyahu gives his history speech you really have to wonder how the same person can support the horrendously dangerous and illogical and inconsistent "Two state solution." Consider that all the people who ran on the Likud and NRP lists like Tzippi Hotobelli, Orit Struk, Naftali Bennett, Uri Ariel, Ze'ev Elkin, Yisrael Katz, Danny Danon, Sylvan Shalom etc. who claimed that they had to be elected to defend the Jewish State signed as supporters of that protest rally. They are the government coalition, just like they campaigned to be.
During the Knesset election campaign, I kept writing that inside they would have no influence, and it seems that I've been proven correct. If they have no influence on the inside of the government, and please don't forget that some of them are ministers, then why haven't they bolted and formed a new, strong opposition party?
And considering that Netanyahu knows perfectly well that the so-called "Palestinian people" is a modern fiction to displace the Jewish People in the Land of Israel, why doesn't he stop them from continuing in their quest to destroy us?
DRIVE! JUST DO IT!

Excellent points, but unfortunately there are no answers. Personally I believe Bibi knows this very well, but he doesn't want to be the first one to bolt the talks so he is putting up all kinds of obstacles to push the palestinians to make the first move. If I had to give it a name, I'd call it political chicken.
Don't most people go into politics because they enjoy power and are self important. Isn't it always about them rather than principles? You could be kind and say that they have to take into their decisions, situations we can't see, but I think it's just a form of self importance and they think they are clever! How can they say one thing and do another otherwise?
I think it's arrogance not cowardice, that is motivating this stupidity.
If Netanyahu knows history, then he should not be trying to repeat it.
Avraham, how about calling it "moral chicken," or just plain hypocrisy?
Sandra, I think it's more of a yearning for center stage and honor but not for the type of power that has risks. They won't risk their popularity.
