Fire on My Mind

The aishtafada has wiped out, or burnt up, the rest of my thoughts right now. Imagine a family relaxing on Shabbat, removed from all the weekday concerns, television off, cellphone off and suddenly they are roused from their relaxation, sleep, peaceful pursuits and told to grab themselves and flee their homes. Yes, on Shabbat, when they are only permitted to travel to save their lives.

Yes, this was to save their lives! They had to leave their homes, the entire community!! The Arab terrorists who value neither life, Land or property lit fires around Neve Tzuf, a Jewish town southwest of Shiloh.

The neighborhood is gone, burnt by Arab terrorists!!

Eighteen of those families now have absolutely no home. Their homes were burnt to a crisp and can't be repaired. Their possessions are gone, history. They were hosted by neighboring communities, including an impromptu Bar Mitzvah, which obviously could not take place where planned.

Many groups are doing fundraising for them do doubt. Click here for one of them.

Last night I turned on Israeli TV stations to try to get more information about the fire, news, aishtafada, but they all had their scheduled shows on. When the fires had been burning in the Haifa area, there were special broadcasts, but when there were Jewish communities in Samaria/Binyamin burning, nothing. There's more news on Facebook than anyplace else, though some is fake. But there are plenty of lies in The New York Times, too.

The "Aishtafada" Arab Arson Terror Continues

As further proof that the Arabs hate this Land and are only demanding a state to kick out Jews and form another judenrein apartheid state, they've been intentionally burning up Jewish communities all over Israel.

The Arab terrorists are getting bolder and bolder, which is making it easier to catch them in the act, but the only thing that can stop the fires would be rain, lots of rain. And only Gd can give us that.

This is all so horrible. I've been looking at the weather forecast. Just after Shabbat it showed no sign of rain until maybe Wednesday night. Now there may be a drizzle on Tuesday. Here in the Holy Land, rain is controlled by Gd to reward and/or punish us. May we merit rain and as soon as possible, Gd willing.

Latest News: Fires are New Arab Terror Tool

At first it seemed like the fires that had begun all over Israel were just more of the periodic late summer, pre-rain fires that are almost spontaneous in climates like Israel. A month ago, after a very long dry summer, there was a bit of rain, but since then the humidity has been summer-like low, so the first fires were considered "expected."

But then the experts began to notice that the spread of new fires wasn't of "natural causes" or patterns, and on the spot investigations showed them to have been set by Arab terrorists, some who have already been caught.

Stand With Us put out a map:

Terrible fires raging in Israel that have now been confirmed by the spokesman of the fire department Yoram Levi as arson attacks. The perpetrators of these crimes have endangered thousands and caused immense damage to people's homes, lives, and of course the environment. We strongly condemn them. Praying for a swift end to the fires and the safety of all those affected.

These fires, like the peculiar lunar calendar of the Moslems, is further proof that they neither own nor love the Land. How can they destroy the flora, fauna and homes here in the Holy Land? They celebrate terror and murder, and this is just another terrorist tool for them.

The ray of true light during this terrible time is that Israel is being helped by other countries, which is so rare:
Countries send aid to fight fires across Israel
Countries that have dispatched aid so far are Greece, Italy, Croatia, Russia, Cyprus, and Turkey. The aid amounts to 10 planes. (Arutz 7)
May Gd speedily send rain to douse the flames.
Shabbat Shalom u'Mevorach
May there be a Peaceful and Blessed Shabbat for All

Davka in "Red" Haifa...

Haifa was always known as the "red city," but they weren't talking about flames and anti-fire chemicals.

Haifa:
As an industrial port city, Haifa has traditionally been a Labor party stronghold. The strong presence of dock workers and trade unions earned it the nickname 'Red Haifa.' In addition, many prominent Arabs in the Israeli Communist Party, among them Tawfik Toubi, Emile Habibi, Zahi Karkabi, Bulus Farah and Emile Toma, were from Haifa.

More has come out about the terror source of these fires. Yes, it's the new Arab terrorism, and davka, now there are Arabs condemning it and also hosting families, Jews and Arabs alike who've been forced out of their homes.

Sadly Deja Vu, Thousands of Years Later

We the Jewish People are amazingly lucky. Gd keeps giving us more chances, after we fail to heed His warnings. This week listening to Yael Ziegler in Matan, "Kings, Prophets and Hurban," I kept feeling that she was reading from a recent blog post I could have written. No, it's not that she's political, not at all. But we're learning IIKings Chapters 17-18, and in it Gd warns the Jewish People that only He can save us, not any foreign king.
39But the Lord your God you shall fear, and He will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies."
לטכִּי אִם אֶת יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם תִּירָאוּ וְהוּא יַצִּיל אֶתְכֶם מִיַּד כָּל אֹיְבֵיכֶם:
That's a very timely reminder for us. As you know, I enjoy following politics, Israeli and American. And I honestly believe without one iota of a doubt that Donald Trump's policies vis–à–vis Israel will be much better than Hillary Clinton's would have been. But I certainly don't see him, or any other foreigner, Jew or non-Jew, as a messiah/savior of the State of Israel.

Our fate, our future relies in our hands and our deeds, not connected any way with anyone else, even President of the United States of America.

I also believe in the Nachshon effect, meaning that just like the sea parted, making a safe dry pathway when Nachshon stepped in, allowing the Jewish People to safely flee Egypt, if we are firm and confident doing what is best for the Jewish People and the Jewish State of Israel, the world will quiet down.

The pressures we suffer from today, whether from outside enemies or local terrorism etc. are due entirely to our lack of confidence, our kowtowing to foreign demands and leaders who shouldn't have any power over us. We've given them power over ourselves, and we must take it away.

The world will follow our lead, and if we act like a dog chasing its tail, as we have been doing for much too long, we will be treated badly and bossed around. Only when we make it clear that we are an independent sovereign nation that will abide no more abuse, aggression, verbal, diplomatic and military will our enemies cease their fight against us. That is the meaning of "a light among nations." The light comes from us via Gd.

Gd has offered us "matching funds," as long as we live our lives according to the mitzvot, commandments Gd has commanded us.

Gd willing we will begin to act as we should, bimhaira biyameinu, speedily in our days...

GUEST POST: NYT Erases Israel from Map

GUEST POST by Mr. Cohen

New York Times Erases Israel from Map (2016/11/23):
http://matzav.com/hikind-blasts-new-york-times-for-excluding-israel-on-map-of-middle-east/

For me, the most frustrating part of this story is not that the New York Times erased Israel from its map.

What frustrates me the most is that even after this inexcusable incident, most Jews will continue to buy the New York Times 365 days a year, with an unconditional guarantee that they will never stop buying the New York Times under any circumstances, forever.

Even if the New York Times would print a front-page story urging that ALL Jews (including children and babies) should be herded into Auschwitz-style death camps and then thrown into gas chambers and killed, most Jews would continue to buy the New York Times 365 days every year, for as long as they continue to live.

For most Jews, especially those who are Liberal, the New York Times is more than just a newspaper; it is an addiction that is more addictive than heroin or cocaine. Most Jews could not stop reading it for a month, even if that were the only way to save their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

The editors and owners of that newspaper must be laughing at Jews, they certainly have reason to.

Next Week is...

Rosh Chodesh Kislev!!

Think about the Chanukah story, when the Greeks forbade the Jewish People from observing Jewish Law, praying in the Holy Temple and worse. I wonder if Shiloh was also forbidden to Jews, since the Tabernacle was here for almost four hundred years before King David chose Jerusalem as our Capital. Were there Jews who came to Shiloh as an alternative to The Temple in Jerusalem?

Well, now, ironically, we have a Jewish State, but we are still forbidden to pray on the Temple Mount where our Holy Temples had been located. But we do have Shiloh! And that's one of the reasons I've been inviting women to come here every Rosh Chodesh, beginning of the Jewish Month to pray together. Next Wednesday is Rosh Chodesh Kislev. Please try to join us.

Has Bibi Been in Power "Forever?"

Menachem Begin, credit
A whole generation of Israelis has grown up knowing just one Prime Minister, and with some short exceptions, two generations or more only know only one ruling party, the Likud.

There's a great irony here, because for the first nineteen 19 years of the State of Israel, it was a given that the Herut Party, the forerunner and main party/element of the Likud were forced on the sidelines of power and treated like political/ideological lepers. In the panic of 1967 before the war started, drafting Menachem Begin into the government to make an emergency "national unity government" was more cosmetic than anything else. The State of Israel had been threatened with annihilation, had absolutely no allies, and the ruling Labor Party didn't want to see itself alone as the ship went down.

Some time before the 1977 Knesset Elections, I remember reading an article that stated that Israel was considered one of the best examples of democracy in the world, with one minor, sic, problem. There had only been one ruling party, Labor, the entire nineteen 19 years of its existence.

At that time, like today, the Leftist Labor supporters, and even some to the Left of them, controlled not only the government, but the media and education, which they considered as their historic right.

Prime Minister Binyamin Bibi Netanyahu
credit
And here we are, almost forty 40 years after that surprise upset victory of Likud which propelled Menachem Begin, whom founding/first Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion considered his mortal enemy, into the role as Israel's Prime Minister, and Binyamin Netanyahu has just surpassed Ben-Gurion's record of 2,793 days – or seven years and 236 days in office.

For someone of my generation, this still amazes me. Honestly, when my husband and I made aliyah in 1970, who would have thought that there would be a time when Israel's Left would be marginalized and in the opposition? If anyone would have even hinted at such a possibility, he or she would have been mocked and belittled.

So, when we now talk of a more Jewish State of Israel and Israeli Sovereignty in all of the Land we possess, are we crazy and delusional, or are we visionaries?

Blogging Elsewhere, Popularity

Never quite knowing how to pull off a free lance career, I'm a blogger, giving my articles and writing and knowledge away for free. At least on Arutz 7, which is a popular news site, I know that I have quite a large following.

Again, three out of six 3/6 of the most popular posts are mine:

Blurring The Truth

On Shabbat, when I read Laura Ben-David's article about the Arab-Jewish photography course she had taken recently, It Takes Two Villages, it reminded me of my experiences in the almost six years I had worked with Arabs in Yafiz-Rami Levy, Sha'ar Binyamin,  "Don't Take My Picture! THEY'll Kill Me."

In the simplistic Leftist mindset, we are all the same, and we just need to get to know each other for peace to happen.

Some Leftist group thought up a plan to teach photography to the women of Gush Etzion, south of Jerusalem, Jews and Arabs. Ben-David decided to participate and describes her experience in an article that appeared in the Jerusalem Post.

I don't know what skills she learned, but the political lesson was identical to what the Arab worker had told me a few years ago. If she, or anyone else, publicizes photos of the Arabs, there will be big trouble for the Arab women who had participated.

Laura Ben-David

Laura Ben-David

Laura Ben-David
Ben-David learned what is pretty obvious to many of us:
I was starting to get really excited about my upcoming article. I figured I wouldn’t have to write much at all, as the photos would say all that was needed. I mentioned this to one of the Arab women who looked at me like I was insane.
What she said next devastated me: I had no permission to publish any of my photos of those women at all.
I was dumbfounded. Why take all of these photos if I was going to do nothing but bury them in a folder on my computer? What were we expected to do with these photos if not use them in the way I had planned? Then I thought beyond my personal disappointment: What in the world was the point of the class if we could not share the experience with our people? All of our people. My people would, at most, look at me with disdain. But many would see the possibilities.
And it might make people think… What about the Arab women? Couldn’t they see this? Why would they want to waste such an amazing opportunity? I pushed the issue and what I discovered was most tragic of all: they were genuinely afraid – some even for their very lives – should anyone in their communities find out.
It was ironic: the Jews were afraid to attend the course for fear of getting hurt there; the Arabs were afraid to attend the course for fear of getting hurt at home.
Arab society is patriarchal and violent. Good intentions and tolerance are seen as weaknesses. There will not be a grass-roots peace movement to change their society. Not only do the Arabs who work with Jews in business like Rami Levy always have to look over their backs to make sure their neighbors aren't going to attack, but even Arab customers can suffer repercussions. And this only gets worse when Israeli government officials talk "peace" and "Palestinian sic State," because if they are totally under Arab rule, the violence against the more peaceful and tolerant in Arab society, villages, cities and clans will only increase.

There can only be true peace under full Israeli rule and sovereignty.

Who Said That Trump's Not a Politician?

There's a very important characteristic in politicians. They can act charming and friendly even with people who have maligned and insulted them, people they really can't stand with good reason. To be a good/professional/successful politician one must be able to swallow ego and pride at times.

Donald Trump and Barack Hussein Obama
When the Obamas had to host the Trumps, it certainly was difficult for all of them. The Obamas had both campaigned for Hillary by so seriously maligning Donald Trump that they definitely skirted or crossed legal barriers in the nasty things they said about him. But they did the proper thing, and Trump said all of the nice words, as if the negative malicious campaigning had never happened.

Donald Trump and his team have also been in touch with many powerful establishment Republicans, even though they did their best to sabotage his campaign for the Presidency. And, no doubt, quite a few powerful positions will go to them.

Trump and Romney meet
Donald Trump could never have built some of his massive projects, for example all of the changes to the West Side of Manhattan that had to be done for Riverside Blvd and the buildings there, if he wasn't a "politician."

To be a successful politician, one must be a pragmatist and be willing to work with everyone to achieve your goal.
