THE ‘ANTI - ZIONIST OF THE YEAR’ AWARD
Letter from Ruth Matar (Women in Green) Jerusalem
Thursday, January 3, 2008
Dear Friends,
In today’s Jerusalem Post there is a must read article by Michael Freund, entitled: “THE ‘ZIONIST OF THE YEAR’ AWARD”.
Basically, Michael Freund feels that Israel needs to place greater emphasis on the core ideological beliefs that gave rise to this country - such as patriotism, love of the Land and Jewish pride. Mr. Freund feels that a simple first step would be for Israel to initiate a “ZIONIST OF THE YEAR” award that would celebrate and honor distinctively Zionist achievements of note.
I want to add to the excellent idea of my friend Michael Freund. I think it would be just as important, actually downright essential, to establish an “ANTI ZIONIST OF THE YEAR AWARD”. Such an award would be won hands down by Israel’s Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, and would alert the Jewish people both in Israel and in the rest of the world, to the danger of Ehud Olmert remaining as Prime Minister.
In an end of the year interview with the Jerusalem Post, on the front page, published on January 1, 2008, Olmert revealed some of his plans with regard to Israel’s future. I was more than shocked! Olmert makes it absolutely clear that he is ready to betray both the Land of Israel and the People of Israel.
The headline on the front page of the January 1, 2008 issue in big bold letters reads:
"Olmert: Even Israel’s good friends see our future based on the ’67 borders, with Jerusalem divided."
One gets the distinct feeling that Olmert is triumphant that his international buddies are in complete agreement with him as to the diminution of the Land of Israel. It does not bother him that the majority of his Israeli subjects are completely opposed to his treasonous plans, to agree to the division of Israel and the abandonment of large parts of Israel, i.e. Judea and Samaria.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister worries that many rival Israeli political parties “remain detached from reality that requires Israel to compromise on parts of Eretz Yisrael in order to maintain its Jewish, democratic nature”.
In yesterday’s Jerusalem Post (Wednesday, January 2, 2008), Olmert’s coalition partners, Shas and Israel Beiteinu express their displeasure at comments Olmert made to the Post published Tuesday, in which he spoke about the need to internalize that even Israel’s friends on the international stage conceive of the country’s future on the basis of the 1967 borders and a divided Jerusalem. Asked if he would bring an agreement with the Palestinians to a referendum or election, Olmert responded that an agreement was needed to reflect the will of the people, but that he believed that the current Knesset still reflected that will.
This, dear friends, is where we have to start to really worry. Olmert does not give a hoot about what the people of Israel think and feel and has no intention to find out. He has become a complete dictator who treats Israel as his private real estate.
The People of Israel and the Knesset Members are completely justified in worrying about Olmert’s autocratic plans. He has stated publicly that he does not need Knesset approval to reach a joint declaration with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. Neither, he has stated, does he need Knesset approval to cede Israel’s heart land Judea and Samaria to the Arab enemy.
Olmert apparently does not agree with the words of Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion:
"No Jew is at liberty to surrender the right of the Jewish Nation and Land of Israel to exist. No Jewish body is sanctioned to do so. No Jew alive today has the authority to yield any piece of land what so ever. This right is preserved by the Jewish People through out the generations and cannot be forfeited under any circumstance. Even if at some given time there will be those who declare that they are relinquishing this right, they have neither the power nor the jurisdiction to negate it for future generations to come. The Jewish Nation is neither obligated by nor responsible for any waver such as this. Our right to this land in it’s entirety is steadfast, inalienable and eternal. And until the coming of the great Redemption we shall never yield this historic right."

Is it treason when a Prime Minister agrees to discuss the dismemberment of his own country?
For your information:
THE DEFINITION OF TREASON ACCORDING TO ISRAELI LAW:

IT IS UP TO EACH ONE OF US TO DECIDE: IS IT TREASON????
WE, THE JEWISH PEOPLE, WILL NOT ALLOW OLMERT TO COMMIT TREASON AND TO BARTER AWAY OUR G-D-GIVEN HERITAGE!
As a matter of fact, there is already a worldwide petition on the Internet asking Olmert to resign. We call on all lovers of Israel To sign the ‘Ehud Olmert Must Resign’ petition using the following link http://www.petitiononline.com/ehud2007/petition.html
With Blessings and Love for Israel,
