Latest report from Chelm

Unfortunately, this isn't a joke.

Israel has to spend the American "gift certificates" in American stores, military stores. That's why the Israeli military industry is crippled and severely restricted. The IDF is also restricted. You see, even though the Americans are very happy to get their money back when we buy the weapons from them, that's the deal with the aid, we get into trouble if we use the arms. As I said, no joke!

There was a terror attack today in Eilat. An Arab terrorist exploded a bomb in Eilat and murdered three people. His family knew about it and wished him luck; they are very proud of their home-grown murderer.

And to keep us all safe, the government began a crackdown on "settler violence." Who really is endangering our country? The good news is that the government has gone so far to limit Jewish civil rights, that even the left-wing, B'tselem, is getting concerned.

...the human rights organization B'tselem, which on Monday said it too was
worried about the inclusion of restraining orders as a tool to keep order
between Israelis and Palestinians in the territories.

If you are referring to the use of cluster bombs, they are not recommended to be used in areas of large numbers of civilians. They cause an inordinate # of casualties and kill people for years to come. If you are a country supporting an ally with sophisticated weaponry, it would be highly unethical not to monitor what they use it for,. It doesn't really matter what your political affiliation is. Killing innocents by leaving the equivalent of hundreds of live grenades in populated areas is not recommendable.

Are you referring to what the Americans, themselves, did in Iraq? Why should Israel be held to different standards?

I agree with #2.

Sounds like our liberal politicos here. With Islamic terror and Islamic acts of lawlessness an ongoing problem, and one most of us wish was being truly addressed, the MSM and the Democrats seem fixated on ... Christians. After all, Christians are extremists who must be watched carefully and slapped down hard whenever they play at being full-fledged citizens.

So, while the threat is from Islam, the ones the Media and Liberals want reined in are Christians.

"And the Band played on."

Not only are we not producing Israeli jobs with the money the US "gives" us, the weapons are not as good as we could make ourselves and they come with strings attached as to where and how they can be used and what technology can be transferred. Also, lots of Americans ask why their tax dollars are going to Israel. Not good hasbara. Why do Israeli leaders take this funny money? My thought is that they need the security of being an American protectorate rather than going it alone. A leader with emuna (faith) would start phasing out the aid and rebuild the defense industries. We could produce the world's best weapons and sell them, confident that nobody could use them as well as we do. As for Anonymous, in the case of Southern Lebanon after we took in refugees and warned people to leave, everybody left there is the enemy and should be wiped out.
