Not only did the locals Arabs shop, but their visitors would take pictures of each other with the Hebrew signs in the background very happily, just like tourists do all over the world. Going to Sha'ar Binyamin to shop for Arab tourists was like when I go to outlet malls and stores in the states.
There have been rumors that our former customers are afraid. Some say they are afraid of us, Israelis, but a friend who spoke to one said that the story is worse. You may not be all that surprised to hear that the Arab ( PA-Palestinian Authority) authorities have threatened Arabs who shop in Jewish stores. There are even roadblocks and inspections of cars that are suspected of coming from Jewish commercial areas. If merchandise from Jewish stores is found, it's confiscated/stolen by the inspectors. So that, apparently is the reason even our formerly best customers no longer shop with us.

Now that last paragraph makes sense, i.e, stealing and threatening the shoppers by inspecting to see if they did their shopping in Jewish stores. And, they want to be peace partners and actually have a state within the heart of our country, so they can murder more freely, c'v. It's so (tragically) laughable, that even absurd doesn't apply.
It may not be "PC" but it's the truth. And the real truth is that most Arabs would much rather be under Israeli "occupation" or even annexation, because it's complete heaven compared to living under Obama's idol Abbas and his band of "merry men."
I wouldn't doubt that the Arabs that shopped at those stores were threatened. This is going back a few years but I'm pretty sure the Arab owner of Peace House was threatened (if not killed) for selling the building to Jews.
It's hard to tell if this is a voluntary boycott on the part of Arab shoppers or if they are being strongly compelled against shopping in Israeli stores.
Arab rule is cruel.
