STOP The Faux Peace sic Talks With Arab Terrorists and Their Cronies!!

  • Anyone who thinks that the United States Government has given up pressuring Israel to negotiate/facilitate the de jure establishment of a "Palestinian State" is naive and hasn't been following the news.
  • Anyone who thinks that the P.A.'s Abbas is benign and capable of making and keeping a true peace with Israel is naive and hasn't been following the news.
Abbas's buddies and officials are undeniably pro-terrorist and praise the Arab terrorists who have murdered Israelis.

Abbas' advisor honors terrorist Dalal Mughrabi, killer of 37: "I salute her soul...[she] who established her Palestinian Republicin her own special way" by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik PMW

Recently, one of Abbas' advisors, Sultan Abu Al-Einein, chose to "salute the soul" of the terrorist who led the most lethal attack in Israel's history that killed 37 civilians:
"Martyr Dalal Mughrabi - Martyr Dalal Mughrabi - I salute her soul and the souls of all the Martyrs - [Dalal] who established her Palestinian Republic in her own special way between Jaffa and Tel Aviv.
Official PA TV, March 30, 2014

This isn't something secret.

The United States has decided to change tactics and instead of having the hapless John Kerry to push Israel into a dangerous "deal" with the Arabs sent in a woman, Susan Rice.
Following the Rice meeting – a meeting the Prime Minister’s Office was not willing to discuss – Netanyahu met with a delegation from the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF). The brief statement issued about that meeting made the gist of Netanyahu’s message to Rice clear.
“Iran seeks to destroy the State of Israel and builds atomic bombs for that purpose,” Netanyahu said. “I want to reiterate Israel’s position: We think that Iran must not have the capacity to make atomic bombs. Iran today has thousands of centrifuges, thousands of kilograms of enriched uranium to make a bomb. A bad deal would let them keep those capacities. It’s better to have no deal than a bad deal.”
The American agenda hasn't changed at all, and I certainly hope that. Bibi made it clear that an agreement aka deal with Arab terrorists won't give Israel peace. We must not ignore that Abbas and the unabashedly terrorist Fatah have joined forces meaning that Abbas is just a front-man for Hamas.

Yes, just like the Big, Bad Wolf in  Little Red Riding Hood. Our enemies are very big on disguises and euphemisms. Our enemies have one aim and that's to destroy us. You can't negotiate that.

Women, Join Our Rosh Chodesh Prayers at Shiloh HaKeduma, Tel Shiloh

The תפילת חנה Tefillat Chana, Chana's Prayer at the site where the Biblical Mishkan Tabernacle stood for 369 years at Tel Shiloh.
It's soon to be forty-seven 47 years since Israel liberated the ancient, the Biblical City of Shiloh from Jordanian occupation in the 1967 Six Days War. Besides the occasional tourist archaeological team, pilgrims or curious hiker wandering in, Shiloh had been empty of humans for centuries or more.

Just over thirty-six 36 years ago, a group of Jewish families moved to Shiloh, and Jewish life returned to one of our holiest cities. Today there are over three hundred families, schools, stores and a very active and fascinating tourist site in the Biblical Shiloh.

Shiloh Mishkan Synagogue modeled after the Biblical Tabernacle

For the past few years, I've been inviting women from near and far to come to Shiloh to pray together on Rosh Chodesh, the first day of the Jewish Month. We also wander around the holy site and check out the latest archaeological discoveries.

Our next Rosh Chodesh Prayers will be on Rosh Chodesh Sivan, Friday, May 30, G-d willing.

How Can We Effectively Muzzle Shimon Peres?

Let's start with the positive...
Peres: Netanyahu nixed agreement with Palestinians that reached final stages three years ago
President tells Channel 2 that his meetings with Abbas were put on ice by PM at point when an agreement was near; sources in the PM's Office deny claim.
As opposed to the infamous Oslo Accords, this time the Israeli Government and Prime Minister were aware of the "negotiations,' although it is far from the legal authority of an Israeli President to be involved in anything so political or partisan.

The dangerous Oslo Accords which committed Israel to were held "unofficially" and illegally to be perfectly clear. They were masterminded by the extreme Leftist and unreliable Shimon Peres who pushed the hapless Yitzchak Rabin into having the Israeli Government accept them as de jure.
...Yitzhak Rabin, who branded Peres “an unrelenting underminer,” dubbed this “the stinking maneuver.”
Ironically, when Rabin later won the premiership, recidivist Peres sidetracked him too, as he had Shamir. The difference was that Shamir fired Peres, whereas Rabin fell for the Osloite chimera.
Almost 2,000 Israelis were murdered, and thousands maimed for life. Stretches of historical homeland were relinquished and strategic assets surrendered to genocidal enemies, whom Peres imported here by the tens of thousands from Tunis as per the Oslo Accords.
Some 150,000 hostile Arabs were added onto Israel’s population to further “family reunions” under Oslo. Those who made egregious concessions to still-implacable foes dramatically exacerbated Israel’s demographic distress, the very one which purportedly served as their pretext for the Osloite machination in the first place.
Peres’s “New Middle East,” Oslo subterfuge and derivative Nobel Peace Prize earned him prodigious accolades from chic international cheerleaders. Yet here, in the sands of the reprobate Mideast, Oslo caused Arab aspirations to replace Israel and the delegitimization of Israel’s very existence to be tolerated as never previously in the valued venues of Peres’s social conquests.
Peres conferred respectability upon Fatah and ushered in Hamas rampages... (Sarah Honig)
Peres, who is unfortunately for the security of the State of Israel, is still going strong and up to his old tricks uses his position as President to continue undermining the Prime Minister.

As you, those who are regular readers of my blog, know, I'm no great fan of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. I wish that he would get out of his Center and be a much stronger Right for the rights of Jews in the entire Land of Israel. But it seems that in this case, Bibi was on target and quickly quashed Peres; although he did not impeach him, have or effectively rein him in.
"Abbas never agreed to anything. Back then as well he just wanted to receive without giving anything in return,” the PMO told Channel 2 News. “This is his method - to be ambiguous until he is pushed to make a decision, and then run away.”
“Anyone who hugs the terrorist Khaled Mashaal on Memorial Day does not want an agreement,” added the PMO, referring to Abbas’s meeting this week with the leader of Hamas regarding a unity pact signed between the sides.
In the interview with Channel 2, Peres revealed that he and Abbas had reached an agreement on all issues of contention, but Netanyahu ultimately backed down from the deal, thinking there was a better brought forth by Quartet envoy Tony Blair.
According to Peres, Abbas agreed during the talks with him to recognize Israel as a Jewish state.
"He has to agree to a Jewish state and we have to agree to have a Palestinian state," said Peres. "In fact, we both agreed on this.” (Arutz7)
The State of Israel is endangered more by our native Left, such as Shimon Peres and his backers, than by anyone else.

In most democracies an official that makes such accusations against his country's leader, such as Peres accusing the Prime Minister of refusing/vetoing a "peace" agreement would be tried and convicted of sedition...

Israeli Sovereignty in Jerusalem

Many of us are worried about whether or not the State of Israel has the guts to declare sovereignty over Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley. One of the reasons is that our government hasn't even been acting sovereign in Jerusalem. Too much of Jerusalem is juden rein, free/clean of Jews as the Nazis called it. Jerusalem is our Capital City, and we must have a capital where Jews can live and work and study allover. There should never be a place where Jews aren't welcome!

That's why I'm glad that Ataret Cohanim has opened a new yeshiva in what's called an Arab shopping area sic. From Reuters:

(Reuters) - The smell of fresh paint wafts through the domed lobby of the latest Israeli arrival in East Jerusalem - a Jewish seminary in a bustling commercial area in the same building as a post office serving thousands of Palestinians every day.

Otzmat Yerushalayim, which includes sleeping quarters and could house as many as 300 young Israelis, is the first Jewish housing venture on Saladin Street, a main shopping thoroughfare across from the walled Old City.
Palestinians and Israeli critics worry the placement of the academy in such a central location is asking for trouble in East Jerusalem, which has stayed largely trouble-free in recent years compared to the Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank, and which Palestinians hope will be the capital of a future state. Celebrating 66, The Many Sides of The State of Israel, Yom Ha'Atzma'ut 5774

Even though it was just a couple of days ago when I posted the latest Havel Havelim, round-up of posts from Jewish blogs, I'd like to share more in celebration of Israel's 66 years since declaring independence. So this celebratory post will be more than just mine, just like the State of Israel is made up of a vast variety of people. Click the various embedded links.

A house in Shiloh built by Jewish workers

One of the great things about living in Israel is that you can find Jews working in every single field, from academics, to medicine, education, bus and taxi drivers, dishwashers, garbage collectors, police, military, building and more. There isn't a single field that is barred to Jews.

Guess the profession of my neighbor who blows shofar at our united Yom Ha'Atzma'ut Prayer service.

There's an explosion of joy every year as we transition, switch from mourning to celebration. The belief, faith and hope one needs to achieve this is very Jewish. Does any other country connect these two days? And has any other country had to fight so long for full independence and recognition?

Dry Bones

The IDF Israel Defense Forces is made up of Israelis, not only Jews, and also new immigrants, like Aryeh, who made aliyah specifically with army service as his plan. It's an unbeatable way to assimilate into Israeli society, learn Hebrew and make life-long friends. The longer one waits the harder it is.

When mentioning IDF army service here in Israel, I must quote from Phil Chernofsky's "LEAD TIDBIT, Attention, real Chareidim" in this week's Torah Tidbits.
I would even suggest that the majority of chareidim (those whom I referred to in the title as real Chareidim, meaning those who truly are CHAREID LIDVAR HASHEM) are opposed to and maybe even embarrassed by the actions of the 'fringe' extremist.
So how about saying so? Where is the uproar of protest within the chareidi community against to unacceptable behaviors as above?
More: Even if one believes that Torah study should exempt a young man from military service, what about a regular pubic prayer in shuls throughout the country and the Jewish world asking G-d to protect our soldiers and security forces who risk their lives to protect ours?
We all say MI SHEBEIRACHs for a person who received an aliya to the Torah, for a woman who gave birth, for sick people, for those who toil on behalf of the tzibur... there is even a MI SHEBEIRACH for people who do not speak during davening!
Shouldn't all Jews say a prayer for Chayalim - regardless of their stance on who should and should not serve?
Refusal to do so goes way beyond opposing Giyus Talmidei Yeshivot.
Can you imagine the difference in perception and attitude in the general Israeli population towards chareidim (and what they represent) if instead of virulent rantings, the protest rallies would include a prayer for Chayalim and a recognition of their role in the holy work of protecting Jews who live in Israel?
I 100% agree with Phil and hope that you do, too.

Many writers and bloggers take on an annual challenge listing things they love about Israel in the same quantity as the years of independence. Benji Lovitt is one of them, and he being a comedian always has a unique take on Israeli society.

One of the things I love here is the sale of flags and accessories.  You never know where you will find them.

Taking my leave from now. I have a holiday to celebrate. May we celebrate many, many more Israeli Independence Days!

Chag Ha'Atzma'ut Sameach!!!

Israel, Where The Prime Minister is "Just Another Bereaved Brother"

It doesn't matter how rich, famous, intelligent, educated, good-looking, successful or ordinary one is. Death will strike us eventually. And part of the "Israeli experience" is that there are wars, terrorism (against soldiers and civilians,) deadly enemies and even accidents of all sorts that happen to those serving in the IDF Israeli Defense Forces. Each of these victims leaves somebody or many to mourn them.

yoni.org
When Yom Zikaron, Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers and Terror Victims comes around, our Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu becomes a mourner like too many others. His elder brother, Yoni, was killed in the heroic and legendary hostage rescue in Entebbe, 1976.

Now Bibi Netanyahu is a third-term Prime Minister of Israel, and that's how we relate to him, whether we support his policies or disagree with the way he is running the State of Israel.

yoni.org
We shouldn't forget that, and we can't forget that Bibi, like too many others, lives in the shadow of a brother whose life was cut short.

One of the themes this year in the television memorial shows was how the weight of bereavement affects siblings, especially the younger siblings. And one of the channels promoted their special interview with the the two surviving Netanyahu brothers. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it.

We're all the sum of our experience and decisions. And we should all include the genes we inherited. We are a combination of all these ingredients. Judaism stresses that we have free will. We aren't fated to any end. We can take what we were given and make something great or set up tragedy and depression. Free will also gives us the ability to change. The only think we can't do is bring someone back to life.

The State of Israel was established in the shadow of the Holocaust, but not because of the Holocaust. All of the foundations had been laid by brave, idealistic Zionists, secular, traditional and all varieties of religious, yes, including chareidim. They began building neighborhoods, kibbutzim, moshavim, communities and cities decades before Hitler began his cruel and immoral career/ideology.

I don't know how being a bereaved brother has influenced Binyamin Netanyahu's policies. And I don't know if being a bereaved brother has influenced Binyamin Netanyahu's decision to enter Israeli politics...

Understanding Israeli Independence, No Fairy Tale

One of the many "some people love it, while others hate it" thing about Israel is the immediate connection between Memorial Day and Israeli Independence Day. Independence Day follows what's officially called "Remembrance Day for the Fallen Soldiers of Israel and Victims of Terrorism" as both parts of the same breath. On Memorial Day, we suck in the air to try to keep in the tears and moans. On Independence Day, we let it out with relief and joy.

Having known too many of the fallen, the victims of enemy Arab armies and Arab terrorism that never shows even a hint of mercy or humanity, I consider this Israeli custom, actually a law, to be very suitable. It's a Jewish custom to visit the graves of ancestors before marrying, and the Jewish Month of Elul, which is before Rosh Hashannah, the Jewish New Year is a traditional time to also visit family graves, so of course before celebrating the State of Israel's greatest holiday we should remember that our independence wasn't handed on a silver platter. It didn't drop from the Heavens the way some Jews claim the Third Temple will appear.

G-d supports us with His version of "matching funds."  When we make great efforts, G-d chips in and makes His miracles. That's why the State of Israel exists, and that's why we have been victorious in the wars against us. The fact that we build in memory of the dead, and we don't flee and give up to our enemies has kept the State of Israel going these past decades.

I'm not saying that we and the Israeli Government are doing a perfect job. Unfortunately, we're far from it. With G-d's help, we'll all improve ourselves.

Last night before the Shiloh Memorial for Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Arab Terror Ceremony began, I walked through the exhibit that had been set up about Shiloh citizens and relatives of others who had died in Israeli-Arab wars, the IDF or were killed by Arab terrorists.

Within a few minutes, I couldn't speak. Memories and thoughts were bombarding my mind. All of the pain, all of those wonderful people dead.

May their memories be a blessing and may G-d avenge their blood.

Catching Our Collective Breath After Surviving the Obama/Kerry Negotiations Attack

IMRA's Dr. Aaron Lerner seems pretty confident that Prime Binyamin Netanyahu steered us well during the nine month American driven faux peace negotiations.
Saturday, May 3, 2014
Observation: American gift to Netanyahu in Barnea piece shows they clueless
Observation: American gift to Netanyahu in Barnea piece shows they clueless

Dr. Aaron Lerner Date: 4 May 2014

The Americans from Kerry's team who complained to Nachum Barnea about Prime
Minister Binyamin Netanyahu unwittingly gave the prime minister an early
Israel Independence Day gift.

Here is what they told Barnea, as reported in his 2 May Yediot Ahronot
article "How We Failed."

#1. The Palestinians refused to compromise during the course of negotiations
and insisted that any Israeli security presence (including in the Jordan
Valley) vanish within no more than 5 years.

#2. Netanyahu insists on absolute Israeli security control for an unlimited
period of time.

#3. Netanyahu refused to agree to a map dividing Jerusalem.

#4. Netanyahu's attorney, Molcho, stood guard to thwart efforts by Livni to
compromise Israel's position.

For almost all Israelis reading the above there is a simple reaction:

Three cheers for Netanyahu!

Once again, the Americans are pathetically clueless, relying on the words of
encouragement from their lefty Israeli friends rather than actually
appreciating what the country really thinks. They thought they would hurt
Netanyahu with this piece when the opposite is the case.

And now to the real puzzle: If they actually believe that the Palestinians
"will get a State for themselves in the end" then why all the fuss?

After all, according to the narrative these folks subscribe to, once the
Palestinians have a state of their own we will enjoy Utopian Peace. [Only
someone who thought there would be Utopian Peace would think that a deal
that completely removes the IDF from the scene within 60 months is a deal
that promises Israel security].

Let me suggest an alternative explanation for the hysterics.

The concern isn't that in the absence of a deal that a Palestinian state
will come into existence without a signing ceremony on the White House lawn.

The concern is that at the end of the day Israel succeeds in moving on.

We make it past all the "tsunamis".

The large Palestinian population centers thrive under some form of autonomy.

The demographic trends continue with each year more Israeli Jews born.

And the dream of withdrawal and division that was the focus of leftist
Israelis and their leftist American Jewish friends will be no more serious a
possibility than that we all start speaking Esperanto.

I'm not at all as optimistic as Lerner. The fact that Obama/Kerry admitted their attempt at a "deal" between Israel and the Palestinians sic a failure has just brought us a break, time to catch our collective breath, but this was not the effective execution such as when Pinchas killed Zimri and Cozbi stopping the plague that had already killed 24,000 Jews.
While pacifists might decry the taking of a life, in this case a moral outrage was spreading in the camp - wanton, orgiastic debauches and idolatry. Zimri, a leader of the tribe of Shimon, publicly takes Kozbi, a willing participant from the daughters of Midian. The transgression is flagrant and unmistakable, brazen and unabashed. Pinchas steps in to end the disgrace, to halt the epidemic by means of the sword. The reward he is given leaves little room for doubt: Pinchas is good, Zimri is bad. Pinchas is right, Zimri is wrong. In fact, Jewish tradition sees these two as archetypes of good and evil; the Talmud's expression for the epitome of hypocrisy is "one who acts like Zimri and expects the reward of Pinchas." (aish)
While Moshe and the rest of the people who hadn't been overtly sinning with the Midian women stood by silently, Pinchas took action, and G-d gave him a great reward, Priesthood.

Unfortunately, successive Israeli Governments have been making the same basic mistake over and over. They keep on relying on the Arabs to foul up, rather than taking a real stand and ending the pressure on us. This is very much a continuation of the pre-state debates and ideological disputes which Netanyahu's late father Benzion wrote about so clearly in his book  The Founding Fathers of Zionism. He contrasted so-called Zionist leaders like Chaim Weizman, who would have had been overjoyed if the "Jewish state" was to be no more than a British protectorate, part of the Commonwealth, with those who wanted real independence. There was also the debates over whether small Zionist Jewish communities were the key or was it necessary to establish a national framework.

Our enemies are clever and very wealthy. We shouldn't be overconfident that we'll be victorious just by sitting out the pressure on us. I think that that George Soros and his J Street hasn't yet finished their attempt to turn American Jewry. to the extreme Left when it comes to Israel. Soros has backed Obama, and he created J Street to support Obama's pressure on Israel to destroy itself. Now that J Street had been handily rejected by the Presidents Conference, his next step is to destroy that organization.

Kerry and Vatican Squeezing Israel from Both Ends

Whoever thinks we've seen the last of United States Secretary of State John Kerry is over-optimistic.
Photo: AFP/Getty Images
The failure to reach a deal has given more ammunition to critics of President Barack Obama's foreign policy, who also accuse him of not reacting forcefully enough to Russia's annexation of Ukraine's Crimean peninsula.
But Kerry, who has invested much of his own time and clout in the Israeli-Palestinian peace effort, strongly suggested he was not about to walk away.
"I personally remain convinced that as each (side) sort of works through the reasons that things began to become more difficult in the final hours, there may be quiet ways within which to begin to work on next steps," Kerry said. Reuters

Rumor has it that he hasn't given up on his dream of a Nobel Peace Prize. He has set himself up as an easy target to mock and no doubt will be blamed for US President Obama's awful foreign policy record.
Plus, spit-shine the Nobel! There’s Kerry aiming to quickly settle “the mother of them all,” as he likes to call the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, with peace to come to the Holy Land within nine months.
Swings and misses, every time.
As in “Casey at the Bat,” mighty Kerry has struck out. NY Post
I'm pretty sure that Kerry will return. And John Kerry isn't the only foreign representative pushing Israel to further endanger itself. The Vatican, one of the (or the) largest landowners in Jerusalem has been lusting over more for a long time. They want Israel to give it The Cenacle, above David's Tomb on Mount Zion.

This conflict over Mount Zion and David's Tomb has been going on for a very long time. There is no reason at all for the Vatican to take over yet another piece of Land in Jerusalem. Mount Zion and David's Tomb has been the home of the Diaspora Yeshiva for forty-five years or more.

Just because The Vatican wants it, and the present pope will be visiting in May doesn't mean that we Israelis must acquiesce. This is our Land, our City and we must behave with self-respect. The Catholics/Christians have been trying to steal our Land, religion and Bible no less than the terrorist whose aims are supported by Kerry.

We're about to celebrate 66 years of Israeli Independence. Let's act like a self-respecting independent nation!!

J Street in The Gutter

Since I get my news of American Jewry mostly from the media, I was nervous about the acceptance/rejection of extreme Left J Street by the "Presidents' Conference." My contact there had told me that's "it's being worked on," the rejection, that it, but still I wasn't confident. He was right. J Street is out in the gutter as far as the "Presidents' Conference"  is concerned.
In a rebuke to the relatively young but very well (and oddly so) financed group J Street, the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations decisively rejected the group’s bid for membership.
J Street has only been in existence since 2008, but it shot out of the starting block with hundreds of thousands of dollars in the bank and the backing of a wide array of well-connected American (mostly) Jews (mostly) who were itching to establish a new standard for the American Jewish community’s attitude towards Israel...
But J Street’s star rose along with President Barack Obama’s election to office. The first year of its existence, J Street was already invited into the pantheons of American political and media power.
With the kind of cachet that adheres to those close to positions of wealth and power – for it is, as always, wealth and power that gives prestige, even if the wealth and power belongs to those who claim to disdain such “conservative” markers of strength, J Street’s coffers were well-stocked and its dance card was always filled. (Jewish Press)
I'm relieved by their rejection. Extreme Left anti-Israel groups, whether Jewish or not, should not be accepted. And I find the support by American President Obama to such an extreme Left anti-Israel Jewish group to be terribly suspicious. Is there a connection between the Obama backers/controllers and the J Street ones?

Apparently as Left wing as the American Jewish community is, the broad-based Presidents Conference very firmly rejected J Street.
JNS.org – In what many observers will see as the de facto expression of mainstream U.S. Jewry’s outlook on J Street, members of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations on Wednesday voted 22-17 (with three abstentions) to reject the membership application of the self-labeled “pro-Israel, pro-peace” lobby. J Street secured the votes of only about a third of the Conference’s 50 members. (Algemeiner)
It's interesting that this happened just as Obama's high-pressured "peace initiative" fizzled and failed.

Everything about them is a sham. J Street is antidemocratic. They aim to interfere with Israeli democracy by imposing their opinions on Israeli citizens, on the Israeli Government. That sign on the right of the above picture proves it. They are protesting legal Israeli life and decisions, which have been approved and voted on by Israeli democracy, democratically elected Israeli officials.

J Street, just like Obama and Kerry who are their biggest supporters, have no right to try to impose their extreme Left ideologies on the State of Israel.  It's that simple. I'm very glad that the Presidents Conference booted them out.
