About John McCain, Crocodile Tears

I'm not going to get into the pros and cons of the life of the late John McCain, but what does irk me is the great praise he only got once he began to condemn US President Donald Trump.

credit: Crocodile tears
Do you remember how unpopular McCain was when he ran for the United States Presidency? I do. The media, movers, shakers and of course the Leftists prefered the young, inexperienced, untested Barack Hussein Obama. They didn't give McCain a fair chance at all.

But eight years later, once Trump galvanized the Republicans, got the nomination and shocked the pundits completely by defeating Hillary Clinton, McCain's anti-Trump statements made him a media darling. And his brain cancer was just the icing of his popularity cake.

The dying, and now dead, John McCain became the poster child for the anti-Trump Republicans. Politics! I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

But there is no chance of that happening
any time in the forseeable future. Oy vey.

John McCain's biggest mistake in the presidential election was to choose the governor of Alaska as a running mate. She had no national status and no international experience. She was a media disaster and prevented any chance of McCain upsetting the fast talking democratic front runner.

McCain was also beat by a better ground game by the Democrats who got their voters out in drives to vote. McCain could not really blame his loss on the liberal media, considering there was a lot of right wing media like fox news and tons of right wing radio talk shows that supported the Republican candidate.

One has to give the suave talking democratic candidate, Obama, some credit for his own election. With patriotic fervor, he offered the American public a new dream, even if he failed to deliver it.

Yet John McCain proved to be a true patriot and worked hard for the American people.

Now he's in Gd's hands.

The incompetence of the Republicans in the 2008 elections foretold the nomination of Trump by the voting public in the primaries and his subsequent victory in national elections. The only positive thing they have in their favor is that Trump had young competitors who can grow into national leaders, while the Democrats showed no young leadership in the making. Hillary's only competitor was older than herself, and they are both of retirement age, even before the 2016 elections.

People have forgotten one particular instance in McCain losing the election. He likely would have fared better were it not for his response to the Financial crisis. His image of how he handled that left many thinking he wasn't up to the job. Obama "appeared" to be more in control. Maybe McCain feared the Keating scandal would come back to haunt him. Who knows. Remember the polling before and after. It was Palin who elevated his chances, not the other way around. He was in dire straits before that pick.

McCain ran an awful campaign. Obama was well-packaged.
