Today, mainly because of political correctness, this tzorah is swept under the rug.<br />Why is this important Biblical commandment so overlooked by religious leaders all over? True, they take a stand when necessary for intermarriage and conversions but never emphasize the reason it is wrong. Conversion has become something to be desired, r'l, so we look around for people whom we could convert which is so wrong. Intermarriage is regarded as not so bad, as long as he/she wants to convert and become a Jew, all chilulei H'. Years ago, parents and families of one who intermarried would ostracize him/her from the family and they would sit shiva for that person.
