U.S. Presidential Elections 2016- A Major Dilemma

An extremely large portion of people I've discussed U.S. Presidential Elections 2016 with agree that they are extremely unhappy with both Democrat and Republican Presidential Nominees. Most people, it seems, would prefer to do a Rip Van Winkle and sleep deeply for four or even eight years. They are terrified at the idea of either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump is President of the United States of America.

abc news

This is the election in which too many people are looking to choose the least of two evils, and the people I generally agree with are all choosing Donald Trump.  This includes Americans living in the states and those living in Israel. For some the decision is very easy. The consider Trump far superior to Hillary Clinton. And others who support Trump and aren't afraid of him as President are disgusted at his runaway mouth and verbal impulsivity.

I haven't "interrogated" people systematically, but it's clear that nobody who agrees with my general politics can find a logical rationale to vote for Hillary. They are all much more terrified of giving Hillary Clinton such power.

divorce?
Hillary is a far superior campaigner than Trump. She is an amazing actress. I'd say that Hillary and husband Bill, as a couple, are more talented actors than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

I've never used my right to vote in American Elections, and if I break that record this year, it will be to vote Republican for Donald Trump.

I generally agree with more of Trumps policies but he is such a self-centered demigod I can see him changing his views on any issue at will. I can not see him handling diplomacy at all. I don't say I am voting for Clinton.....but I keep hoping that Trump will start acting more diplomatically, more restrainened, and less obtuse but I am disappointed time and again.
This election , for the first time, has made me wonder at the intelligence of the common man. How we ended up with two candidates most of us despise is unbelievable

Ricksmom,
As one Rabbi put it(Rabbi Kessin),
"You need a megalomaniac to debate another megalomaniac."
I will vote for Trump. I'm not concerned about the man's mouth. I'm more concerned about the evil that Hillary has committed and has verbally announced she will do when she gets in blah blah blah.
I'm not thrilled by Trump, yet will support him.
Ultimately? It is Moshiach who we daven for. He is the perfect man for the job of this world guided by Hashem. He is one we need, please,Hashem- now!

Obviously, both Batya and commenter Leah are absolutely correct. This is a no contest. Whoever is voting should vote for the republican nominee. He is not a politician, thus has no phony political polish, but he is basically truthful and it is known he is also a generous person. What is hard to understand is that there are 'jews' who will vote for the dem. nominee. Whether they are frum (which is inexplicable for a frum person) or secular, if they vote dem., they are 'jews' in name only (or erev rav).

No matter, we pray that Moshiach will surely be here soon (please, immediately)!

One thing we should take into consideration is Eliyahu HaNavai and his travels with the Rabbi. Not one of the events in that story were according to the surface impressions. The answers were from facts that couldn't be known.
It is because of "political correctness" that we have become an utter decadent and violent nation. So is it any wonder that Islam is going after the West claiming the mantle of purity.
Donald Trump is certainly the antithesis of the PC culture. He is the one who will not be silenced in whatever he says. Everyone else HAS been silenced and will Not speak up against anything that falls under the umbrella of PC. Obama, the leader of the free world, has legitimized Every deviant behavior under the sun. It will take another strong, outspoken leader to nullify the PC culture and return it to those who have been silenced. This didn't come about only during Obama but has progressed since the 80's. It will take a bold individual to erase this past. One who does no concern himself with a "political future".

Amen, good points. Thanks

My prayer is that Gd will give the people what they need and not what they - the liberals and democrats - think they want. Lawlessness caused a whole world catastrophe. People don't learn and when they throw Gd out of the government and schools, evil abounds. The scary thing is that so many view Islam as a religion and not as a government and no one wants to address the evil. It's a good thing that Gd has the final say because He has the master plan.

All such wonderful comments. Sharbano writing about the PC insanity, it made me think that this is why they slowly ingrained this into the public's consciousness; so that they can push anything they want knowing that people will be afraid to say anything that goes against the PC line of thinking so eventually a 'robotic' public is created. We have the most dumb downed generation completely ignorant of everything important but geniuses in what's happening in Hollywood and the like. This was the real goal of those in power. But, like the above commenter, Sam, says G-D has the ultimate say, B'H.

true, though I think that Trump should take a rest. Impulsivity is worse when people lack sufficient sleep.

This came via a Facebook friend:

"What Trump is doing is bargaining and maneuvering in a primal 'Alpha' style that our culture seems to have lost touch with, so he's incomprehensible to many. This is a cross-species kind of thing. He appears to work mainly from the enteric nervous system, the 'second brain' in the gut--and he's good at it. He instantly sizes up people and situations, words come out that may sound to us conceptual types like crazed blather, but he succeeds, and moves on. He speaks from and to guts, and straight from guts to goals, I think the cerebrum is mostly a mere crossing point. It's incredible to watch.

For example, when he casually drops that he'd consider not defending NATO allies being attacked if they have not paid their dues to the organization, he's bargaining. He's 'as-if' absent-mindedly flashing major leverage. The fact that you can't ever really tell when he's serious or not is perfect for this game. He keeps people guessing, off balance, and they'll move to settle with him just to remove troubling uncertainties. The deal will be made. Think about the effect of what he says, not its "reasonableness" or propriety. "Polite" is not a factor. Certain EU allies perked up so quickly at that statement, let me tell you. They'll pay. Is that good? Bad? Whatever. But that's the game.

Or also: Trump speaks so nicely about Putin, and people question his US loyalty, call him a fanboy...Wrong, wrong. The context is like an NYC Mafia Don, speaking so nicely about the rival New Jersey Don across the water. This is the careful "dance of the scorpions", Alpha rivals, strongmen, warlords. Trump is apparently descended from Vikings, Camille Paglia wrote about him in this vein. I'm just tired of people thinking that this is just a clown. He's not. Have whatever opinion you want, but please take account of the unique form of intelligence that is at work here."

Thanks. Makes sense to me. He had no problem winning Republican nomination.
