Very Enthusiastic Arabs in Sha'ar Binyamin

The other night at work I noticed an Arab family, parents and daughter taking lots of pictures when entering Rami Levy. By the time I got my camera ready, they were finishing, so I only got one blurred shot.

Later on they came into the shoe store where I was working and got so friendly, even took more photos. I'm probably in some of them. They seemed so happy to be there in Yafiz and Rami Levy, Sha'ar Binyamin. I honestly couldn't figure out why. They aren't the first Arabs I've seen taking selfies and photos of their family/group/friends in the stores and shopping center. But I've never seen such enthusiasm.

Any guesses?

My concern is that they are planning a terror attack and taking photos to help plan the attack.

I reside in a town called Ramapo formerly known as Ramapoc. A neighbor named Rachel recently married. Her smile is even more severe. She hasn't changed her profile photo on Facebook featuring her mom and their Police Officer Friends. And her husband is bald, but harmless, I suppose.

I don't know. I've bin thinking about selfies and how intrusive Paparazzi are with high profile Celebrities. The contrast isn't that wide a Gulf, but I lean toward selfies being more appropriate, although excessive selfies can border on Intoxication. So much focus on the ego can be Dangerous to the self, so to speak.

I've bin experimenting on zero visibility and archiving what everybody else seems to be focused on. If I do take a selfie, it's of me on the screen of a discarded television monitor. I've photographed about two dozen in the last few years. They haven't been picked up and remain sitting on the yards of neighbors, even through winter seasons. I won't complain about the lack of sanitation workers though, unlike nearby Lebanon, I heard.

That woman doesn't appear observant. The Police down south are very color-sensitive and have very sharp eye-coordination. If anything, they're harmless wolves that require stricter discipline.

I'm old school: i loathed self-promotion

also, I expect an increase in orderly Parsim Aliyah, emphasis on the mundane bureaucratic aspects

Persian Olim should be considered Bene Benyamin

Spies aren't as blatant; arrogant, perhaps, but not intelligent to be photographing so openly. It's what tourists do. It's what gets journalists into trouble in Syria:

I would expect so much enthusiasm from new townies, the further away from the City one travels

i expect this blog to gain further, now that Iran has somehow gotten to be on the Dreidel Nations' Better side

I was thinking along the lines of Heaven forbid they were planning something...I typed, erased, typed,.erased you get it...wasn't.sure to post it, yet saw your first commenter and decided I wasn't crazy for my thoughts...

Agree only with bubby and Leah. These arabs might know something that the Jews aren't aware of. There are no words to describe the insanity of what is called a Jewish state but doing everything to make sure it isn't and the danger the Jewish population lives in surrounded by outsiders, determined to destroy. c'v.

It's funny that you wrote about this because yesterday in Rami Levi in Gush Etzion I saw an Arab woman taking a selfie against shelves of washing powder or ekonomika! And I was wondering what was that about??

These were Arab tourists. So many Arabs work and shop in the stores that there aren't many secrets.
We do get a lot of tourists, Arab businessmen etc. There are also UN workers and their families who shop by us. I try to write about the world that the mainstream news media ignores.

Were they photographing the location of security cameras or observation points by placing themselves in a shot near one? I can't imagine what the thrill of being in Rami Levy was. By the looks of her shoes they're not country folk.

Emunah, hard to believe, but it would seem that for the Arab shoppers that Rami Levi is a a big attraction, both family night out and date night. The women are certainly dressed to the nines, and it seems to be a big social for them.

Emunah, a 09:55, quite a few are fancy dressers, the men as well as the women. If you see a man in a nice suit, he's most probably an Arab, generally a tourist/businessman from Jordan or Kuwait. And you wouldn't believe their shoes... They love the children's clothes here and sports clothes, too. They buy shoes, sandals, children's bathingsuits, and walk out of Rami Levy with diapers, baby formula and bottled water among other items.
