Shalom Batya...Thank you for all your postings, i very much enjoy reading about them... wondering if you might post something along the lines of the modesty of women for Jewish women and ger women?

Being a ger...wondering what is correct for me with dress, head covering, etc?

If you have already done a post on this would love to read about it.

annie, nice to hear from you. As a ger, I presume you were taught by a Torah observant rabbi and community. I don't know what your story is.
So for a simple answer, I don't wear slacks. My skirts and dresses reach under my knees and sleeves at least to my elbows. And since I'm married, I cover my hair with a scarf or hat.
Maybe I'll blog about it on me-ander

Well worth visiting Shilo during
Chol Hamo'ed Succot. One can easily enter a Time Tunnel and go back in time to a street during Biblical Times when the Mikdash(Tabernacle) was in Shilo.
29 years after moving as founders of Maale Levona (10 minutes drive from Shilo), I actively encourage English-speakers to come on Direct Aliya to 44 Communities in the Centre of Israel — Aliya2Binyamin.
Ideal for those who enjoy Peace and Serenity of country living, but still need to maintain a close proximity to their work in one of the Major Cities in Israel.
For those interested, we plan to teach Hebrew in an Ulpan for the first half year in Israel Summer 2014, We only have room for the first 10 families who commit to coming during
July / August 2014, so please check us out on:

Batya... So very nice for you to respond. Yes, the Rabbis we are learning from are Torah observant... And, actually no one in particular told me to start wearing dresses or skirts that are long, nor did they tell me to cover my hair...but just felt the total need to do so... Was very much wondering how the Jewish women cover your hair... is it fully, is it out a bit... or... what is acceptable? Maybe my being a ger would make the rules different? Not sure... but feeling the need to do this.. and wanted a Jewish woman's perspective on it. Thank you for maybe blogging about it also... it's a needed subject to be expounded on... do you think maybe? When more ger come to you with these questions... for our dress codes also... we can know what is expected of us also from HaShem.... to be an Eishel Chayal also...as a ger. Thank you vewry much Batya...

Eric, thanks, so nice to hear from you!!

annie, hair-covering is for married women. The styles more depend on where you live and can be very creative according to your taste and occupation.
Once someone converts, as long as the conversion was sincere and not with an anti-Jewish agenda, then they are Jews. The conversion status isn't to be publicized by others.
Where do you live?
