The Most Dangerous Ramification of Yesterday's "Nakba" Riots and Invasion

The bedlam on Israel's borders yesterday when Arab terrorists invaded Israel from Syria and Lebanon highlights the weakness of Israel's military defense policy.

We, Israel, should follow the "shoot first, ask questions later" policy like all normal self-respecting countries.  Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak is 100% wrong when he claims that "Israel's restraint saved lives."

Things will only get worse, especially when you take into account how little the Arabs, the invaders and the rioters paid for their violent crimes.  Restraint against violent enemies is dangerous, and these Arabs are out to destroy our state, nation. These Arabs aim to kill us all, even the Leftists in Tel Aviv. Why else did they (or the individual Arab terrorist who used a truck to murder and maim) choose Tel Aviv as the location for yesterday's terror attack?

The most dangerous result of Israel's weak, pathetic, apologetic reactions to the Arab terrorist violence is that it will make the law-abiding Arabs afraid that Israel won't protect them.  That will encourage them to support the terrorists from fear.  Only a strong Israel can keep loyalty.  When they see Israel afraid to react, they will support those they trust will protect themselves and their families.

Ehud Barak's policies are "penny wise and pound foolish."  Today he saved Arab lives at the expense of Jewish lives tomorrow.

This is moronic thinking - just like the moronic thinking that sent our soldiers onto the Turkish flotilla with paintball guns. So the enemy lives to try to kill us again...

i doubt any normal country has a shoot first policy regarding border infractions.
i think israel handled it well.
i really dont know if this is a precedent or beginning of something bigger, as you seem to be sure of.

Moriah, you're saying that Barak is wrong, correct? You're not referring to Batya, right?

Anon, what other country with hostile neighbors who have never accepted that country's existence and have never negated their prior declarations of war against that country, are you referring to?

Israel is forced not to be the "normal" country you're using as a reference point. We are not at the US/Canadian border.

We should've blown the crap out of every person stepping over the line and told them that there are bigger naqbas to celebrate where that came from. All the Arabs need to do is ask for more.

From the way you write I wonder if you are a believing Jew. It says in the Shema that the land will vomit us out if we don't keep the Torah. It doesn't matter if the government is "weak" or "strong". It isn't a Torah government. This isn't a Torah state and Hashem is sending the Arabs in to give us a message. Wake up.

Anon, who are you accusing now?

And, Anon, try reading Vehayah Im Shahmoa again. You missed some things.

So when people try to sneak across America's borders, the Americans can beat up, shoot or otherwise remove them.
Same for Russia. Same for Iran.
But when Israel tries to do it, well that's just not allowed!
It would be very easy for Bibi to stand up to any critics and say "What would you do in our place? What have you done in our place? Now shut up and go away!"
I just wish he finally would.

a2, The Torah orders us to protect the Land as Jewish. The Torah orders us to annihalate Amalek. What Torah do you read/follow?

a1, that was no "infraction."

Remember the SLA? Arabs who support Israel end up on the short end.
