Southern Israel, No, Those Weren't Pre-Purim Firecrackers on Shabbat

Shabbat wasn't very peaceful in sections of southern Israel, because the Gazan Arabs attacked with dozens and dozens of missiles.  I don't know what the New York Times reported earlier, but in one of their very low-key/small type headlines, just now they wrote:

Israeli Tanks Respond to Mortar Fire From Hamas

JERUSALEM — Hamas militants fired dozens of mortar shells from Gaza into southern Israel during a 15-minute period on Saturday morning, slightly injuring two Israeli civilians and sharply escalating tensions along the Israel-Gaza border.

The Israeli military responded to the unusually intense barrage with tank and helicopter fire. Gaza officials reported that five Palestinians were wounded by Israeli fire directed at a Hamas security facility east of Gaza City, including three security officers and two civilians, one of them a child. BBC had a better headline:

Gaza rocket barrage hits Israel
Palestinian militants in Gaza have fired dozens of missiles into southern Israel in what appears to be their heaviest such barrage in two years.

About 50 mortars were fired - two Israelis were hurt, Israel says. (complete article here)
No surprise, but both sites only showed pictures of suffering Arabs.

It's Purim here in Shiloh.  We celebrate two days of Purim each year.  I have lots to do in the kitchen.  No doubt I'll be back on the computer, but not now.
