Taking Bets: Will Huckabee Stay Pro-Israel, Including Jews In Judea-Samaria-If Elected U.S. Pres?

Could Huckabee be the exception to the rule?  Friends who traveled with him during his Israel trip trust him.  Now he's the strongest Republican Presidential hopeful.

I'm taking bets.  Honestly, I'm a terrible cynic.  Could there be brain-zappers that change the opinions of those voted in high office?  There was a TV show called The Agency, which had strange machines that could long-distance do a medical exam on a person who didn't know he was being examined.

I do not have faith in Mike Huckabee. He is a strong evangelist xtian and as you know they are big on "turn the other cheek - hate the sin not the sinner - judge not" Etc.

I do not believe he will make a good POTUS. I have a gut feeling about him and my gut - Baruch Hashem never fails me. He is not the leader America needs - someone who will not waiver under pressure. Huckabee will not stand up to international pressure...

Time will tell, and I'm not optimistic.

I have no idea. Whatever I say is nothing but pure guesswork.

I do agree with Moriah that Huckabee will not make a good President for the US, irregardless of this or that Israeli issue. The job is way too big for his shoes. I actually prefer Palin over Huckabee and I'm not a Palin for President fan.

Shy, that's interesting re: Palin. I'd love to know why you think so. I think that her being rogue and angry at the people who misshandled her during the campaign will make her stronger. Also, I've been studying shoftim, and women are better leaders in a crunch.

In my opinion Palin is unelectable. The degenerate, permissive, 'anything goes' vegetarian, radical feminist, metrosexual 'if it feels good do it' Left have mass hysteria over her. She is forthright, wholesome is a 'breeder' and represents raw authority. She won't be our next POTUS because of her warranted or unwarranted divisiveness. I have no problem with her. I think Mike Pence is a good candidate...

If we are considering the possibilities, I would take under consideration, Rudy Giuliani.

Rudy proved he's a loser last time. I doubt he'll get any closer if he tries again.

Batya, Palin's a dynamic figure and a greater ralllyer and organizer.

But I don't think she has the overall political experience and savvy to fit the job description of POTUS.

If you've been studying Shoftim, then you would know that there are all sorts of leaders in a crunch, some are men, some are women.

I couldn't care less about anyone's gender in regard to being a presidential candidate. May the best qualified win.

What's "best qualified?" I don't think the USA has that today.
I think strong hide will do it, someone who can't be pushed around, as long as the basic ideology is Right/right/good.

Who's best qualified? I didn't say, except that I think that Palin is better qualified overall compared to Huckabee.

Less than 2 years to go. I'll wait and see who's in the running.

To claim that Evangelicals in the US can be defined by one sentence from the new testament, is oversimplifying the complexity of protestant America. Huckabee has positioned himself to the right early on (and we still don't know if he will run), he will probably move to the left in a general elections. What he will do as President is even harder to read.

Actually, I don't care about his religion. I just wonder if he'll make his pro-Israel rhetoric into policy.

I was really hoping that 2012 would bring fresh faces to the campaign, not the 2008 leftovers:(

First let me state that I think Israel should stand independent of a US "Big Brother." Our dependence to the US might actually being hurting Israel in more ways than one. It makes our youth aspire to be like a waining American youth and ultimately we are loosing money each year with our $3 billion in second hand US war supplies.

However, if I were to support a US candidate (which I can as I hold two passports.) Mike Pence is the Republican.

Yachiel, I agree re the independence. And we must take responsibility for our security. We can't rely on anyone else.

I have to agree with Moriah's assessment of Huckabee. He strikes me as another Jimmy Carter.

These right to Right wing xtian politicians worry me. Their love of Israel seems over the top, which makes me suspicious of them.

Either I'm waiting for some fresh faces to come forward.

Either way, Israel needs to assert itself much more.

Jimmy Carter does not like Jews, but AFSI friends who were with Huckabee here in Israel were very impressed.
