Nominations

Many of us jbloggers have mentioned the term "worst Israeli Prime Minister," mentioning both Olmert and Barak as candidates.

I think that we should really make two different categories:

Israel's WORST Prime Minister

Israel's MOST DANGEROUS Prime Minister

Let's take nominations.

I'll start with Ehud Barak as "worst," and Ehud Olmert as "most dangerous."

It would be nice to have a third category:
Israel's BEST Prime Minister

But I really can't think of anyone. Maybe Levi Eshkol?

Nah. He seemed weak.

I'd say Begin.

I hope this doesn't get my husband fired, but Begin goofed it big-time with his Camp David and Yamit destruction disaster, the precedent for Disengagement and all evictions and destruction of Jewish communities.

Batya, unfortunately you're right about Begin.

Anyway, "best" is a relative term.

Tzom kal, yehudim yekarim.

I'd choose Shamir not as the best, but the least worst! Shamir resisted concessions to the Arabs. Unfortunately, he shared power with Rabin and Peres, who undermined Shamir with secret peace talks in Madrid.

Critics described Shamir as "do nothing" in regards to peace. In other words he did his best to prevent a Palestinian state from happening.

maoz, thanks, u2

a, I have problems with Shamir, since he was PM during Madrid. As soon as the news was out about the terror attack near Shiloh, two murdered, he should have packed his bags and gone home withe the entire Israeli delegation.

Worst PM:
1st place: Sharon who did what the runners up dreamt of doing.
2nd place: Peres whose dream Sharon made true.
3rd place (tie): Olmert & Barak. Olmert who is a low-price imitation of Neville Chamberlain and Barak for giving recycling a bad name (I hope recycled toilet paper is better than the recycled Barak).
Most Dangerous PM:
Bibi (no runners up): if he gets in power he will certainly do the left's bidding and might end up surpassing No1 in the previous category.
Best PM:
1. Moshe Feiglin
2. Baruch Marzel
3. Arieh Eldad

OK, but your best list never served. We thought, years ago, that Begin would be a great one, and he was dangerous, too.
